Overall we enjoyed our stay. However please note this is not a detached property it is a mid terrace. The mattress on one bed needs replacing and there were some minor cleanliness issues. The shower over baths could really do with a shower curtain or screen and fittings to hang the shower heads. Downstairs is not as spacious as the photos suggest but for 6 adults we were comfortable. Well stocked with cutlery and china, nice balconies and views.

We had a lovely time in Chestnut Lodge. It had all we needed and everyone was happy. If I could mention Balihoo, not a criticism but a bit of feedback - the coffee was shocking, menu limited and shop sparse!

My family and I stayed for one week. It is a lovely holiday home in the MOST BEAUTIFUL setting. I have not seen anything like this before. Lots to do including pool, spa, bike hire, fishing, kayak hire but also a fantastic place if you want to just relax on your balcony overlooking the lake with a book!

Accommodation was fantastic; really clean, comfortable, spacious and very well equipped. The amenities on site were excellent, lots of things to do inside and out. The only small blot was the on-site restaurant. Food was very average and service slow. It did not spoil our time here however, and we will probably be back.

We could not fault the house, Chestnut Lodge. The accommodation was perfect, spotlessly clean and dog friendly. Pete who looks after the house was very friendly and helpful. We did find the onsite shop/bar/restaurant very expensive, however the quality of the food they prepare was fantastic (there is just no need to charge the prices). Overall we would highly recommend Chestnut Lodge and Lower Mill Estate for a family holiday.
