The cottage is in a great location, rural, surrounded by fields with no neighbours but close to lots of attractions and amenities. No surprises, property as described and very clean.

If you like modern up to date decor and need wifi or a mobile without the need of a dongle, then Walter's Cottage isn't for you. It definitely needs bringing up to date, but having said that, it suited us very well indeed. We loved the privacy, the natural sounds of the birds and owls, the view of the farm in front of us and the warm and cosiness of this little cottage. We even enjoyed the lack of mobile and wifi facilities for a change and got the books out to read. The owner very kindly left us biscuits, milk, coffee, tea, fruit and flowers so we felt very welcomed. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had plenty of utensils. There is no freezer other than the small compartment in the fridge, and there is no hairdryer, but if you know that in advance you can accommodate for this. We will visit this cottage again when we are in the area again. You definitely need a car as the cottage stands in a very narrow lane, about a mile from the main road. There are no shops or pubs within walking distance.
