Despite members of our party unable to be with us due to illness we enjoyed our stay. It was a chillout weekend with good friends to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary which we thoroughly enjoyed. We visited Chepstow and Monmouth and rode on the Forest of Dean Railway steam train. We had a great meal at the White Swann at Broad Oak as well using the local Chinese takeaway Jimmy's Kitchen in Lydney. The only criticism was the lack of wifi but that for a weekend was not a deal breaker. Overall a great house in a nice location with plenty to do.

This was a family event of 6 adults and two children. We all had a lovely time. The house was comfy and warm with plenty of space for all of us. This would be a lovely location for the spring or summer months.

The cottage was adequate if a bit tired, but for a cottage that accommodated 8 people a dishwater would have been welcome given the amount of washing up that was created. Although there were enough glasses they were a mixture of all shapes and sizes and not uniform. The hot water supply was intermittent and often tepid the afternoon when everyone wanted a shower after a days walking.

For the most part very comfortable, beds, sofas, etc. But the hefty dining table and seating was not meant to be sat on for very long!! It is made of what looks like railway sleepers, and with the joins and cracks it is difficult to get rid of the crumbs and bits that drop into the gaps. In the kitchen there is a small label warning of the very hot oven but there is no oven glove or sheet to use. On a couple of chilly mornings/evenings when we would have liked a bit of warmth, there was nothing to use. The book says heating is used via the thermostat in the living room. It didn`t work, and the controls in the utility room say `do not touch`. Admittedly days when we were out it was very warm, but it did cool down considerably in evenings and mornings and I`m a cold critter!! But never mind, we all enjoyed ourselves and would recommend it.

Comfortable well equipped house and everything was spotlessly clean on arrival. The lounge was a good size for our party of 8 and we liked having the dining table in the same room. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms a good size. We did have a small problem with the hot water whilst staying but this was sorted out quickly by the owners. There is no WiFi but reasonable 4g so this wasn't an issue. The kitchen was a bit chilly the first weekend but it was very cold outside.

Lovely cottage, however think we went on the coldest weekend in the winter. Due to this and the cottage being old and with stone floors, it was a bit chilly at times. Spacious bedrooms and comfy beds, very clean. New bathroom down stairs with lovely corner bath. Would go there again but in the summer
