Description

Ivy Cottage is great for walkers as it is situated in the village of Chedworth where there are many footpaths to enjoy.

This charming 19th century, stone-built cottage, with oak beams and inglenook fireplace, has been sensitively restored to a very good standard, and is perfectly situated in the heart of the Cotswolds for exploring this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Upon arrival you will receive a welcome pack which includes a complimentary bottle of white wine. Set in a pastoral valley, Chedworth is a picturesque village, where you may see alpacas in the surrounding fields and gamboling lambs in spring. Unspoilt by tourism, it has many public footpaths in and around it, and lays claim to being the longest village in England. Nearby is Chedworth Roman Villa, and at just 15 minutes’ drive is the Roman town of Cirencester (Corinium), with its amphitheatre and museum, which has two superb mosaics. The beautiful market towns of Winchcombe, Stow-on-the Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh and Chipping Campden are all an easy drive away, and for a day trip, why not visit the Roman spa town of Bath; Cheltenham and its racecourse; Oxford’s dreaming spires; Stroud and its artists; Tetbury with its antique shops and ancient covered market; Malmesbury and its abbey, (the burial site of Athelstan, the first king of all England); and Bristol with its historic docks? Seven golf courses and seven riding stables all within 25 minutes. Farm shop 5 minutes by car. Shops 8 miles, 17th century pub and restaurant 100 yards.

Lovely, cosy cottage in a small village. Well-equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge and bed. Great location, with lots of attractions within 30-40mins drive.

Delightful cosy cottage in a quiet village, with an excellent log burner. Very well equipped and clean apart from frying pans and wok well passed their best and badly stained mugs which we had to clean before use.

This cottage was better than the pictures on the website lead us to believe. I suggest the pictures are updated as they do not show how roomy and well kitted out the cottage is. Everything is to a high standard-there is a shower as well as a bath in a huge bathroom with heated towel rail. The kitchen is well equipped and basics left in the cupboards. The kitchen has been opened across to the living area in a nice way. Fire was great but central heating also very effective. Bedroom huge for two people. Bed very comfortable.

AT first sight and inspection a very nice cottage good equipment in the kitchen .Good garden/funiture. A lovley bath/shower room, but the bed mattress was very uncomfutable indeed also in the bedroom was a sensor that flashed a blue light ,i first thought a major incident outside The sofa in the loung area had long past it best by far These comments also found on the Reevoo sight and some hand written pages torn out from the inhouse comment book
