This former semi-detached ‘bed and breakfast’ has been completely transformed into a large and comfortable holiday home, right in the heart of Blackpool. Although located on a quiet residential street, Arnside is less than 165 yards away from the Pleasure Beach and all of Blackpool’s attractions are right on the doorstep, making this an ideal choice for fun loving families and couples. Other popular seaside towns nearby include Thornton Cleveleys, Southport, Morecambe and Fleetwood whilst quieter, more natural beaches can be found at Formby and Crosby, the latter of which is home to Anthony Gormley’s ‘Another Place’ sculpture. The cosmopolitan seaside town of Lytham St Anne’s, which has five championship golf courses, is just over 5 miles away. For those who prefer a greener landscape, Forest of Bowland AONB, Ribble Valley and Pendle Hill are all within a short drive and will provide many opportunities for walking, cycling and fishing. The city of Lancaster is within an hour’s drive and in just over an hour you can be in Kendal, Lake District making Arnside a great base for exploring the beautiful county of Lancashire and beyond.     We used the house for a Show team that was presenting a show at the Winter Gardens - It was home from home for the week. Comfy, clean and lots of room.

    We had a wonderful time in Blackpool. The property’s location was perfect – just a short walk to the front and the tram service was excellent. The house was well appointed and spacious. We appreciated that it had previously been a B&B and designed to meet the fire safety requirements for that classification. However, we did find the fire doors for all rooms extremely heavy and very noisy and wondered if they were really still necessary for a rental which was effectively a private house. The patio and garden was beautiful with plenty of space for summer barbeques (lovely one provided – together with ample garden chairs & large table). Also, it was a nice touch to provide toys for children. The owners, Stuart & Clare, gave us a most warm welcome, explained everything and were very helpful during our stay. We have had many self-catering holidays and this was certainly one of the best!

    Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your valued comments. Arnside is the only house in the area with the facilities that it does provide. The Council had difficulty classifying the property, they therefore decided to keep the property as a B&B for insurances and rates purposes which is why there are fire alarms and fire doors. We have however provided door guards to all ground floor doors in order to keep them open. Hope this information is helpful.

    Great cottage, perfect for a group of friends with children. Plenty of space, comfortable, warm and good hot water, and you can see the Big One at the end of the road! Put 9 on equipment as a few more big saucepans/pizza tins would have made perfect.
