This was an absolutely lovely place to stay. The cottage was very warm and comfortable and had everything we needed including a nice garden to sit out in and relax. It is only a few miles from Penrith in one direction and Keswick in the other where we can get all we need and I think it was less than one mile from Rookin house activity center where I go to horse ride so the location is perfect for us. The only reason we didn't give a 10 for comfort was because the bed is quite firm which took us a couple of nights to get used to but that is just down to our personal preference and it was clearly a very good quality bed. We had a really great week staying here and definitely hope to return in the future if possible.

overall I enjoyed my holiday, only one or two niggles, one bath towel between 2 and the fridge , we could not stand the milk up in it as the door had no useable shelf. As I say only minor things.

Brilliant, couldn't ask for a better stay really. Didn't both at all, just gave us the keys pointed us in some walking directions and thats all that was needed. Coffee was provided as other bits as you would expect. The only issue was the bed as it was two singles pushed together which was rather uncomfortable but other than that perfect. Little bit of a window leak upon heavy rain also. Would go back

Beautiful little cottage. The weather was poor while we were there and I had a bad cold but the house was warm and the bed was huge and very comfortable. The cottage is quite isolated, which is fine when the weather is good, but, no fault of the owners - the weather was Baltic when we came. Therefore, there were limited options. We managed a walk in the morning and there's a lovely pub to walk to. Overall, a lovely stay.

We had a lovely mid week break at the small apartment/cottage. We stayed during a cold spell, just after the February snow and found the rooms to be nice and warm. The heating came on in the morning and again late afternoon. The cottage was nice and cosy, with everything you would need for a self catering stay. We found the beds hard mattress to be really comfy and had a great nights sleep. It was nice and quiet with us stopping out of season and our dog enjoyed having a good run about the place. The staff were exceptionally friendly and made us feel very welcome. Big thank you to Amanda, who was lovely and for returning our IPad!

Lovely little cottage. It’s location is perfect for the North Lakes. It’s part of a campsite so we had not anticipated being “surrounded” by caravans and campers but we enjoyed our stay nonetheless. The site itself is very well maintained including the shared garden near the cottage which is verily pleasant. The cottage itself is very comfortable, great night’s sleep in the comfy bed. The family business that runs the site do a fantastic job, great welcome and genuinely care that things are just right.

Excellent well equipped cottage perfectly located in the Northern Lakes. Would definitely recommend. Only 'suprise' was that the dog friendly garden wasn't attached to the cottage and was shared - should have been clearer on website as would have put me off booking if known in advance ... however the reality was it was just a few steps away from the door and I had it to myself anyway so was no issue at all.

Hi. We`ve stayed here before, and when we returned this year it was a bit like coming back home. I absolutely love this place. It`s a bit out of the way, but so what. More than likely we`ll be back next year. I can`t wait .
