This stylish, light and comfortable apartment sits just yards away from the centre of one of Lakelands prettiest villages, Grasmere.

Greenacres Rest is a stylish apartment which offers that perfect break in the Lake District that everyone is looking for. Wake up in the sumptuous super kingsize bed and begin your day sat in the wonderful conservatory with a coffee, whilst watching the wildlife come and go in the garden. The contemporary walk-in wet room makes it effortless to revitalise yourself for the day ahead. The well-equipped kitchen/dining room overlooks the enclosed garden, where on warmer nights you can sit on the patio and enjoy al-fresco dining. In the evenings you can cosy up on the comfortable sofa and catch a film on the TV, or if you fancy you can venture out and sample real Lakeland ale in one of the many local bars.
Just a short level walk leads you to the sides of the lake, where you can admire the spectacular surrounding scenery, as well as enjoying the local galleries filled with superb pieces of local artwork. You’ll be just a short drive away from some of the most well-known Central Fells, along with many easier and gentler paths, with stunning scenic views including the nearby Grasmere and Rydal Water circuit. Traditional events such as the Rushbearing and Grasmere Sports and Show still take place during the summer months, whilst the Wordsworth connection continues with St Oswald’s churchyard, where beneath the yews, the poet and his family graves can be found.
If you wish you can leave the car and take the open top bus that stops at the end of the lane, it offers unlimited stops along its route providing you with a perfect and enjoyable way to see the sights. Beach 25 miles. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Greenacres rest is a lovely ground floor flat which has all the amenities you would want. It has a lovely garden and comfortable conservatory.

Greenacres Rest was a real find. It’s a lovely, spacious apartment set in a private, attractive garden, just minutes away from Grasmere village centre. The kitchen/dining area is light and well-equipped. The bedroom, with it’s comfortable super-king sized bed was perfect. The conservatory - overlooking that lovely garden - is a fantastic asset which we made full use of. In fact, we made more use of it than the lounge which, in comparison, seemed rather dark and slightly dated. Although we’re very reluctant to make any criticisms as we had such a lovely holiday, there are a couple of points which we hope will be taken constructively. First, the wet room. A great idea and the shower was very good but, unfortunately, the drain was inadequate (or maybe just needed some ‘unblocker’). This meant that after only a minute or so, the water was swirling around the room and toilet. Thank goodness there was another toilet & sink off the kitchen. Nevertheless this was very frustrating and inconvenient. A dishwasher is a wonderful asset when on holiday but with only 4 dinner plates, 4 side plates and 4 (nice) mugs we were left with the choice of running the dishwasher when it was half empty or hand washing. Neither of the lounge curtains closed in the middle (but there were blinds). All in all we very much enjoyed our holiday in this excellent property.

A lovely comfortable, spacious & well equipped property in a great location, just a couple of minor points stopped us from scoring more highly....no instructions on how to use heating (although we worked it out) quite a draft comes from conservatory into bedroom If curtains not angled correctly (we stayed in Jan so prob not an issue in warmer months), lounge curtains don’t shut properly, no salt (we had to eat in a lot as nearly everywhere was shut for refurb!), not much storage space for clothes & we needed to re-hoover the bedroom on arrival We had a great stay though & these were just niggly bits that didn’t affect our enjoyment, but wanted the owners to be aware.
