Great cottage, really clean, with everything you need. Be aware it is an upside down Iayout. Confusing for dogs that are usually not allowed upstairs! I recommend The Greyhound Inn, just a few minutes walk, really friendly. I have one problem with the cottage, as the owner of two dogs the first things on my search criteria are a dog friendly with an enclosed garden. We look for an enclosed garden because the dogs are on holiday too. At Jenlea the garden is over the other side of the lane and also there is a request saying please don’t exercise your dogs in the garden. I wouldn’t recommend the cottage to anyone hoping to have a garden for their dog to play in. Apart from this point, I definitely recommend Jenlea cottage but I think it’s better suited to people without dogs.

A very nice little cottage. Not dog friendly at all though. There are signs all over requesting that dogs aren't here or there, and that this gets left here, and not to do this and that. Repetitive signs too, it felt like you couldn't turn without seeing a sign about how you should be in their cottage. Perhaps they had a few bad experiences in the past, but it just made the stay uncomfortable. And asking to not exercise my dog in the garden - she likes running around. It's a bit much to try stop her from running a bit when she's in a closed, off-property garden. This would be a nice cottage for a couple without pets. And forget about the wine and chocolate, those don't actually get left.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are disappointed to hear you consider our cottage not dog friendly. For customers with pets, we have a couple of cottage rules such as please don’t allow them on furniture or on beds. We endeavour to present our cottage in prestige condition for all guests. As it is not a meet and greet cottage, we find the best way to inform customers is with signs which I am sorry you found uncomfortable. Regarding your comment about exercising your pet in the garden, we have never asked guests not to do that; in fact, we have purposely provided a safe enclosed area away from the seating area for pets.

Beautiful location (off the beaten track, but that's sort of the point...) and actually not difficult to find with sat nav and the excellent directions given by the owners. Setup is slightly unusual (lounge and kitchen upstairs, bedrooms downstairs) but that actually works really well and makes total sense. Boiler is definitely noisy, but that didn't cause us any problems, mostly because there was no need for any heating because clearly the insulation is very good because the cottage was lovely and warm. Great base to go walking, couldn't have asked for better.

Lovely and well equipped cottage, within half an hour of many attractions. The children loved the fact is cul de sac and could be outside without the worry of traffic. We all enjoyed all the walks, especially the dog. We will definitely come again to explore more.
