A typical early 20th century Lakeland lodge, the property has been sympathetically extended with the loft offering a spacious master suite enjoying lake views. Granton Lodge has elegant good looks, both inside and out, and careful attention to detail in offering guests well-presented comfortable accommodation.
Just a short drive from the centre of Bowness, Storrs Park is ideally placed to enjoy walks from the door to take advantage of its particularly picturesque location. The nearby Hawkshead ferry crossing offers easy access to the west of the lake and nearby typical Lakeland villages offer pubs with open fires, good beer and menus taking advantage of the excellent locally sourced produce. Head into Bowness, for an eclectic mix of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Set on the edge of Lake Windermere, Bowness has a truly Lakeland feel and stunning views across the lake throughout the year. A wander up the hill from Bowness to Windermere offers guests further shops, many fine independent retailers, and an excellent choice of eateries. Shop 2 miles, pub 1 mile and restaurant 200 yards.

    Wonderful holiday in idyllic location with exceptional scenery. Best time of year to go. The property was perfect; exceptionally clean with top of the range facilities. The property was very comfortable and spacious. Extremely dog friendly with secure garden. Lots of areas locally to walk. Located on A592 but could not tell from property regarding noise. The master bedroom upstairs was spacious with beautiful furnishings and TV and view out to the lake. 15 minute walk to Bowness taking the local road just off the A592 with no traffic and few persons. Booths supermarket is so handy in Windermere. This property is ideal for those who want to not use their car; we used ferry, bus and train during the week and got out and about across the Lake District. The kitchen was so well equipped with all that you would need. Dining room looks good in the photos but is much better as the ceiling is vaulted and in the evening provided a wonderful outlook in the dark clear skies; one evening the full moon lit up the dark sky with beautiful stars and the light shining off Lake Windermere. Would definitely recommend. Storrs Hall hotel is just nearby with fantastic views out on Lake Windermere and lovely walks in the woods and out to the lakeside Temple. Finally there was a wonderful welcome pack from the owners including a delicious cake, bottle of wine, dog treats et al
