The Cottage is set in the heart of Keswick and for those of you who know the area well, you won’t be surprised to find that you can access everything this vibrant market town has to offer on foot. Walking from the property, you will reach Fitz Park, which offers a great area to exercise your four-legged friends. Continue along the riverside and in just 5 minutes, 500 yards, you will hit the bustling town centre, which is brimming with great restaurants, pubs serving local craft ales, an excellent range of shopping experiences and some memorable tourist attractions. If you want family fun then visit The Derwent Pencil Museum, home to the world’s largest pencil, ¾ mile away, or visit Puzzling Place, which is full of mind-boggling optical illusions, ½ mile away. If you like culture, you have to try the Theatre by the Lake, with its enviable position on the shores of Derwentwater, it offers award-winning performances in drama and arts, and is just ¾ mile away. If you like walking or cycling, you are surrounded by some of the most challenging and iconic fells in the area, as well as a number of less challenging walking routes suitable for families.
