An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above.

Description

Positioned in a conservation area of Bowness and only a short walk from the centre. Delightful interiors which include multi-fuel burner and designer kitchen.

This old world, terraced character holiday cottage handsomely nestles in the heart of a conservation area leading towards Biskey Howe, yet stands only a stone’s throw away from the village of Bowness. The property has been lovingly decorated and furnished with a warming multi-fuel burner in the living room to enjoy after a long day exploring. Internal features include quality oak style and carpeted floors, well proportioned bedrooms and bathroom, oak designer kitchen, and much more. Bowness-on-Windermere is one of the most beautiful natural areas in the UK, and is largely seen as the jewel in the crown of the Lake District. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy golf, walking, hiking, climbing, water-skiing and sailing, or simply cruising down the lake on one of the authentic steam boats. The village of Windermere is just 1 mile away, while Ambleside, Coniston and Grasmere are all with easy reach. Or why not take the car ferry that still crosses the lake between Ferry Nab and Ferry House, and provides a convenient approach to the western side of the lake for access to the villages of Hawkshead and Sawrey. A Lakeland treasure in a peaceful part of the village, Warner Lea is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Shop, pub and restaurant 400 yards.

Lovely house to stay in with a lot of equipment. Only thing missing for me was some firewood and kindling. Even if this was an option to add to your stay it would help. Other than that it was great

Fantastic house, in great location! Would be great to have the option of purchasing logs for burner on booking so they are there for arrival! Would definitely recommend and would stay again!

Brilliant property in great location. One bathroom downside with groups, especially as broken lock, and a bit cold downstairs but otherwise perfect!!

This is a great house in a great location. It is an easy walk into Bowness with a Tesco and a Co-op in easy reach, loads of excellent restaurants and cafes, and even a little cinema! For days when we weren't up mountains there was lots to keep us entertained. Unfortunately the wifi wasn't working when we arrived (we had been told, so we were expecting it, but still it was disappointing), and due to miscommunication between BT, the owner and the office the chap who was to come and fix it on Monday couldn't get in (we had been told it was ok to go out, BT wouldn't need access to the house). So it finally was fixed on Wednesday... and we left Friday. 5/7 days without wifi, so we used a lot of our data! Other than this it was great, with a few odd items missing: no draining rack for hand washing dishes (there is a dishwasher but it's not very good and some of the rollers are missing so the racks are easy to dislocate). There is a washer and dryer which was brilliant for wet muddy clothes from our walks, but no airing rack for things that don't need to go in the dryer. No broom (only a dustpan and brush) for sweeping up the inevitable crumbs created after family meals. Lighting in the kitchen isn't brilliant- a few spotlights would be good. No shaver plug in the bathroom- luckily the electric toothbrush held its charge for the week! BUT it is warm, comfortable, we all slept well, the bathroom is lovely and the shower great... and the washer and dryer was very convenient.

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are had you enjoyed your stay. The WiFi is now all working and the property is having a brand new bathroom fitted in January and glad you enjoyed the facilities of the washer/dryer.

Overall we had a lovely time but there were a few things which need sorting. The Wi-Fi never connected properly to our devices, the bath cold tap didn't always work, no washing line or dryer so unable to dry clothes if we were to use the washer. Tiles in the shower need replacing and there is paintwork which needs sorting. The mattress in the bedroom on the top floor is absolutely filthy it needs changing the rest weren't checked. No tv supplied in double room second floor.
