Stayed in August 2022. Nice looking house but needs TLC. Dogs Welcome but no garden for them. Dust and cobwebs everywhere. ( mentioned in several previous reviews). Oven not clean and fridge not working properly (also previous mentioned). The two attic rooms were unbearably hot. We asked for the possibility of fans for the rooms and are still waiting for a reply. A faulty fire alarm was reported at the same time and was replaced the next day while we were out. The small double bedroom on-suite shower drain was blocked (also previous mentioned in reviews). If all the above had been attended to, the house could be quite nice. For the money paid for the week, I feel that there is no excuse for the condition of the property.

Staveley village was a real discovery and a great location to explore southwest Lakeland. Staveley House was comfortable enough, but lacks a garden, although there is an outside seating area. Not all the equipment worked as it should have done (oven and fridge/freezer) but none of this small points spoilt our family holiday. On arrival the house wasn't as fresh as it could have been, as I think it hadn't been used for a while (cobwebs and dust).

Staveley is a lovely village with everything you need in walking distance and Windermere only 10 minutes away by car. The house is lovely, roomy and well equiped. The downsides were the lack of direct access to the decked area at the rear and the cleaning really wasn't good enough. On first sight it looked fine but then we noticed that the showers needed a thorough going over to to remove grubby bits and dust bunnies appeared from uner the furniture and in corners. Simple to remedy and then it would gave gad full marks.
