lovely place and super clean; great view and outdoor space. will definitely come again as we visit our daughter in bristol and need somewhere to stay that will have our dog as well. some instructions for the heating system would have saved us from having to contact the owner to sort out! only criticism is the kitchen equipment - very limited for 4 people cooking - frying pans long since last their best and had to wash up between courses to recycle plates and cutlery!

The cottage is well presented and a nice rural location. Exactly what we were after, especially as my daughter had lots of school work to get on with. What we did not expect was a full blown 3 day multi stage festival in the next field. Thumping music until 2am every night. Here are a few comments from the owner after we arrived and asked how long the noise would be on for. "Just shut all the windows and doors, you won't be able to hear it". Perfect advice for the middle of a heatwave! Plus it made no difference to the noise. At least keeping the doors closed, stopped the wasps as there is a large wasp nest in the ceiling cavity. "Think yourself lucky, people pay hundreds of pounds for tickets, and you are getting it for free". If I wanted to go to a festival, I would have gone to a festival! also very hard to enjoy when you can hear both stages at the same time. "You should have know it was on" I'm not local to the area, how was I to know it was on. What would have avoided all of this, would be for the dates of the festival to be noted on the website and/or booking form, then we would just have booked elsewhere, he also might have been able to rent it to someone going to the festival, as the cottage is literally 5 minutes walk from the Festival entrance. Also this is the first cottage we've ever stayed at the doesn't provide bin bags. Our first holiday in nearly three years, completely ruined by an owner who took no responsibility for anything, and blamed us for booking at this time. The dates for next year have already been published (3-6 Aug 2023) Beware if you are after somewhere quiet!

Located down remote lanes with lovely views across to chew magna lake. The property itself is bursting with character, sadly showing signs of use and anyone over 5ft 6 should cautious using the upstairs room's. As a base to explore surrounding Bath and Bristol this served well. However if you were planning on remaining in the property this may be challenge. Whilst dogs are welcome this property has open access to the lane and nearby properties.
