Description

Enjoy a relaxing break in Dulverton and take in the superb scenery in the area, as well as visiting many picturesque villages.

This characteristic, 15th-century cottage with its thatched roof and unusual feature of terracotta tiled exterior make this a unique holiday destination. Although having all the old charm outside, internally the cottage has been finished to a very good standard and provides a comfortable and convenient interior. The semi-detached cottage is situated in the Exmoor town of Dulverton not far from the banks of the River Barle. So, whether you want to wander into the town centre, enjoy one of the local pubs and restaurants, or sit by the river and watch the world pass by, all this can be done without having to step foot in the car. There is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path or inland on Exmoor and many other places to visit to make a memorable holiday. The Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watersmeet Gorge (NT), valley of the rocks and the funicular cliff railway are close by. Looking towards Minehead, there is the promenade to enjoy a relaxing walk and an ice cream, as well as having a good array of shops and other amenities. The West Somerset Railway is worth a visit for those with an interest in steam engines. Dunster Castle (NT) and village, with its beautiful terraced gardens, Deer Park and Mill will make for an interesting day out as well as Porlock Weir. There are beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor for all to enjoy. Shop, pub and restaurant 10 yards.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Boot I went with partner, son , daughter and their partner and two dogs. The cottage was beautiful, clean, warm and cosy. Trish who organised key collection was most helpful and friendly and we were greeted with a complimentary box of biscuits. I cannot criticise any part of this accommodation and will definitely stay again. Thank you

Lovely cottage with plenty of room although we would stay in this property again it could do with a freshen up. On arrival the downstairs loo/shower was quite dirty with wee all over the toilet seat. No tv aerial signal and the curtains were hanging down and a bit dirty. Comparing to other places it could have done with just a few more logs to get you going. I think we had about 4 or 5 so getting out to the shop and getting logs was a real priority. The most annoying thing was on arrival there was a mini parked in the cottage parking space which made offloading difficult. This mini was there for the remainder of the day until about 6 pm. It turned out this belonged to someone working in the shop opposite called Isis, perhaps a friendly word wouldn't go a miss. In some areas there was mould on the walls and some grease on the tiles around the cooking area. It might sound strange given some of these comments but we would reccomend this as a property to stay in for its location, size and character. We love dulverton and cottages sleeping up to 8 people and taking 2 dogs are few and far between.

A comfortable place to stay with lots of character and everything you need. A very cosy lounge just perfect for an autumnal weekend. Located right in the charming little town of Dulverton and next to the Bridge Inn. Lots of lovely walks and amazing scenery right on your doorstep with many places to visit nearby. Would recommend going to Lynmouth. It's a spectacular drive there, crossing Exmoor and descending through a gorge.
