We loved our stay at Two Bridge cottage. The cottage was a great size and had everything we needed- the ice packs in the freezer were great for picnics as it was such a hot week! It is in a great location next to Forde Abbey. There are some lovely runs on quiet lanes, although it is a bit hilly! The shower was fantastic- wish we had one like that at home. The garden was beautiful, and our dogs had as much fun sunbathing as we did. We had some lovely meals out there and hugely appreciated the owners postponing the lawn being fertilised while we were there as it would have been difficult with the dogs. We hope to return!

Excellent stay. Dog friendly but small dogs can escape garden. Otherwise cannot recommend it enough

Lovely feeling about the cottage. Very quiet and cosy. The kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of crockery and glasses. The long garden, laid mostly to lawn, is fully fenced making it perfectly safe for our dog to wander around without being able to escape. The two bathrooms are very spacious with showers that produce amazing pressure to give wonderful long, hot showers. We spent a week here and loved every minute of it. The location of the cottage makes it perfect for country walks, visiting the Dorset/Devon coast and exploring the Somerset/Dorset countryside.

Lovely 2-bedroom cottage, which was tastefully decorated (in the fashion of a traditional country cottage, but without being chintzy) and well maintained. Comfortable beds. Good water pressure in the showers as well as plenty of hot water. The bathrooms are quite well proportioned, so you wouldn't feel cramped in them even if there were multiple family members in them at the same time. The rooms all have good radiators that you can adjust in each room. The lounge also has an electric 'burner' that provides heat instantly. The kitchen had everything that we needed in terms of equipment. We also appreciated that there was a good sized fridge as well as a large freezer, so we were able to buy a lot of food in one go. The wifi signal was strong throughout the house (whereas we've stayed in cottages where you literally had to sit in only certain parts of the house in order to be able to use wifi!) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily consider coming back. A couple of minor things (which are certainly not complaints - but I include them so that you can make an informed decision and choose the cottage only if it's completely right for you): 1. We did experience a quite lot of noise from the family living next door. Perhaps this was because it was half-term, but we were very aware of the thumping from the neighbours - as if children were perhaps jumping off a bed? We could also hear laughing, squealing and coughing. This wasn't a massive issue - it tended to end by around 10pm. But if you are looking for absolute quiet, then this may not be the cottage for you. 2. The curtains in the bedroom are very thin and do not block out a lot of light. This may be problematic if you are looking to sleep in. In summer, I could imagine the light pouring into the bedroom to be sufficient to wake me up early in the morning too. Also, at one point the outside light from the neighbour across the driveway came on in the middle of the night and it was bright enough through the curtain to wake me briefly. 3. There were quite a few houseflies in the house. We literally killed about 5 or 6 of them during a 4-night stay. Not a huge issue, but we did wonder where they all came from... 4. There's a lovely garden. But just check that the people staying before you cleaned up the garden. The people who stayed just before us must have had a large dog, judging by the couple of piles of dog mess that they had left behind. Owners: you may want to check the garden to make sure that inconsiderate owners haven't left any "presents" for the next occupants.

A lovely retreat away From it all. Peaceful location. Very homely and cosy. About 10 minutes in the car to chard, so don't expect shops on your doorstep but that's what we liked about it.

This is a lovely cosy cottage set in the countryside, it is very well appointed and comfortable. The cottage was always warm and there was plenty of hot water. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom we had spacious. The bathroom was well equipped and always lovely and warm. We had a really good 4 nights at the cottage over New Year and did not suffer any problems, no noisy neighbours which had been written about in some comments. Our friends I am sure will go back there again but unfortunately for me I cannot go back as chickens seem to appear from somewhere and come into the garden, one pecking at the patio door as if asking to come in. I have a phobia about birds so would not go back in the summer when we would want to be out doors. This is a problem for me and no reflection on the cottage - others enjoy them. We ate out at the Bath House restaurant and Cotley Inn, both of which were excellent and worth a visit. We had some super walks on the coast. Thank you.
