A beautiful and quirky old cottage with unique features including large fireplace with clome oven. The cottage was warm, though logs for the fire would have been appreciated. The beds are comfortable and well appointed, as is the entire cottage. Care needs to be taken at the top of the stairs where the upstairs toilet is. I've suggested a welcome tray be provided as the 'welcome treat' a box of pastry straws, was not up to the standard we expect from this high quality accomodation. The caretakers were very helpful, and being next door, were quick to respond to our requests. Everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments and we are pleased that you found the cottage spotlessly clean, comfortable and that the caretakers were very helpful during your stay. As explained by the caretaker we usually provide a “starter” log-pack for the first night but, unfortunately, there was a supply problem with logs, which has now been rectified so please accept our apologies for this oversight. We are also reviewing our “welcome tray” arrangements.

Lovely comfortable & warm cottage in a good location for various Exmoor villages. Only suggestion, a basic welcome pack e.g. a pint of milk & small amount of tea, coffee & sugar would be much appreciated as the local shop is open a VERY limited time closing at 1pm when arrival time at cottage isn't until gone 3. But it's only a suggestion as we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Odwell Cottage.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments and we are pleased you enjoyed your holiday at Oddwell Cottage. It was a shame you didn’t discover the tea/coffee/sugar in the storage jars on the shelf above the kettle and the small jug of milk in the fridge to accompany the mince pies provided on the kitchen table. We will ask our caretaker to ensure these are pointed out to all future guests.

Lovely character cottage in the middle of the countryside. Beautiful surroundings, quiet and peaceful. Very well thought - out supplying amenities in the cottage itself. Will hopefully be coming back again.

I loved the cottage and the weather was excellent for 2 weeks - I did find the hoover heavy and cumbersome but everything else was just perfect, the caretakers were friendly and helpful too and the dogs loved the enclosed garden - was a priveledge to stay at oddwell !!😁 it would be great if the village had a local pub to meet others in the village
