We had a great week in Ambleside and the cottage is well placed for local walks, the lake, the town. There were a few issues, most of which were sorted straightaway eg an overflowing dustbin on arrival, a faulty door in one shower and another door which needed attention between the kitchen and conservatory. A maintenance man arrived almost immediately after we reported the faults which was impressive. We felt the cottage could have been cleaner on arrival- there were crisps on the floor in the conservatory and the lava stone grill on top of the oven hadn't been cleaned (pieces of cooked chicken were visible between the stones). Otherwise, everything was fine and it was reasonably well equipped for the range of weather conditions we experienced.

A very comfortable stay in a great location. Everything you need is thought of. There were a few maintenance issues that have been brought to the agents notice. A great space for entertaining especially the conservatory and it’s wonderful views! Great walks from the door and close to local amenities and public transport so no need to use the car. I would recommend and definitely go back

The house has the feeling of a hostel - sticky doors/ tiled floors/ wooden banging doors/ bedrooms on lower floor etc - not cosy and needs updating to be commanding these prices. Shame there is no access to outside from living space . Conservatory is a nice space but outdated furniture.
