The cottage was to far from any amenities and a bit dark not to our liking it needs to be more updated and less personable too the owners.

We had a fabulous fortnight at Elsgyhll Barn, which had been beautifully decorated for Christmas for us. Penrith is a great local centre (we especially loved the Chopping Block deli/cafe) and loved being able to walk up into the fells from the village.

The cottage is beautiful. Immaculately clean and the owners left a lovely cake for our arrival and milk in the fridge. There is a pub which does a nice range of food three minutes walk away and the village bakery which does fabulous breakfasts. When we went unfortunately, it rained for three days but we still managed to walk the dogs, visit Penrith and have a relaxing time. I would highly recommend Elseghyll Barn - oh and the other thing which was wonderful was there was adequate parking for two cars and a gate to keep the dogs in. There is also a lovely little outdoor seating area which we couldn't use because of the rain but it would be ideal for outdoor entertaining.
