The instructions for arriving were very thorough and extremely useful. It was nice to be told that we could arrive earlier than the standard time. The cottage was very clean, extremely well equipped and very comfortable. As we do a lot of cooking on holiday we particularly appreciated a good selection of sharp knives, good quality pans and the Denby crockery. The two bathrooms would be particularly useful for a family. The bed was very comfortable, something that we have found to be quite rare in a holiday cottage. Whilst at first the parking seemed daunting, it didn't take long with a little care to get it right and we managed to get an XTrail SUV in with little problem. The texts from the owner were very reassuring and I'm sure that if we had any problems they would have been dealt with promptly. The welcome hamper was a lovely surprise and very much appreciated. We would happily stay here again.

Lovely cottage with sea views from front garden. Shops within easy walk. The co-op staff were so friendly and helpful, treated me as if I’d lived there for years. The cottage so well decorated and equiped, the owners had thought of everything. I’d happily stay again, the owners were so helpful. The stairs not suitable for young children but older ones would love them, especially as there’s a guide rope instead of handrail leading to loft bedroom... felt like being aboard a ship... lived it. The owners left a small hamper with local produce in it, such a lovely touch. Cottage within easy reach of the ‘mainland’.

Lovely cottage in beautiful part of the country. High end fixtures and fittings and a thoughtful welcome pack to boot. We have stayed in many cottages over the years and this one certainly ranks amongst the best. Looking forward to returning when time allows.

Samphire cottage is cosy, comfortable, very well equipped and spotlessly clean. All furnishings, décor and equipment are of a very high standard. It is situated on a very quiet one-way street with beach front café (highly recommended), co-op, chemist and chippy within walking distance. The buses to take you into Weymouth stop at the end of the road and are very regular, and can also take you further into Portland if you catch it at the top of the road. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Samphire cottage and highly recommend it. We will stay here again when holidaying in the area.

This is an incredibly well kept cottage which has been decorated really well with very comfortable beds and sofas. The owners have put a lot of thought into what people need on holiday and everything is provided so I had to pack a lot less than usual, they were also very helpful over the phone before we arrived. The area is lovely and our favourite activity was watching the sun go down on Chesil Beach just a short walk away. There is plenty to do in the area so we didn't have to travel far for days out on the beautiful Jurassic Coast. A lovely place to stay, we were sad to leave.

The cottage exceeded expectations- the photos don't do it justice! The décor is outstanding- extremely tasteful with lots of quality decorative touches. The two bedrooms are very spacious. There are two bathrooms -the first floor ones is enormous, luxuriously decorated and with a free-standing, double ended bath. The downstairs room are compact. Thee house is on several levels with extremely steep stairs, twisting stairs, meaning it would not be suitable for anyone with mobility or balance problems. The gated back yard was great for hanging sailing kit and storing bikes. The front terrace is lovely, with sea views. There is a drive but due to the steep narrow road it is tight parking an estate car - going on forwards is easiest - I could do it in one manoeuvre by the end of the week! The owners were extremely helpful.

Great view of the sea from the seats on the terrace, only a few minutes walk from a great beach-front cafe where you can sit and watch the sunset. Good location, supermarket and fish and chip shop just found the corner. Beautifully presented house, very clean and everything you could need is there. Large TV with Netflix if you get stuck inside during bad weather. Great communication with the owners who were very helpful. Highly recommended.

Lovely cottage, cosy and comfortable and was equipped with absolutely everything you need. Very helpful owner was available for help and information if needed. Welcome basket of biscuits, ale, cider, sweets, chutney to name a few was a really nice touch. Only stayed for 3 nights but wished we'd booked a week.

We had a lovely stay at Samphire Cottage. It’s modern and clean and fully equipped. Really nice, and the owners are helpful and friendly too. The stairs are steep to the top floor, but we all managed fine, and the stairgate was an extra precaution at night time even though we have older kids. People with physical disabilities may want to contact the owners before booking though, just to be sure. Some might find the parking space a little awkward especially in a larger vehicle, but we managed and have a large people carrier. It certainly shouldn’t stop anyone staying at this lovely cottage.
