Lovely week in cute cottage - in great rural location but easy to get to beaches and tourist attractions. We loved it. Friendly helpful owners who provided sundries on arrival. Spottlessly clean. Even the weather was kind to us. Just one thing ..... "musty/damp" smell in cottage especially in the lounge.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for taking the time to submit your review and for the very nice comments left in the Visitors' Book. I'm glad you enjoyed your holiday. I'm therefore at a loss to understand your comment about the musty/damp smell especially in the lounge. The Cottage is not damp and in fact when you stayed we hadn't had rain for over two months. The cottage is cleaned thoroughly between guests and soft furnishings are regularly updated. I can only think that it may have been caused by a recent touch up of paintwork.

We found the cottage clean comfortable and well equipped. David and Jane, the hosts, were welcoming and provided lots of local information in a folder. Our grandchildren loved the attic room and slept well. There was an excellent selection of books, games and DVD's which was an added bonus. The location was ideal for us as we were visiting family in the local area. We would definitely stay again and would recommend the cottage.

We enjoyed our stay at Dove Cottage. There were lots of little extras left by the owners, which were very much appreciated. Owners were very friendly and helpful with local knowledge.

The cottage is remote which is exactly what we like. Comfortable and roomy. Only downside is the slight dampness due to the age and construct of the cottage. Relaxing place to stay which is a great base for day trips. The owner is friendly and helpful. Lovely to arrive at the cottage and find tea, coffee and milk.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for your comments. Unfortunately we suffered torrential rain at the beginning of your stay. We noticed a damp patch on the living room ceiling after the cottage was vacated, which wasn’t brought to our attention at the time. This was due to a slight roof leak which has now been rectified. We are glad you enjoyed your stay.
