Leave all your worries at home and head off on a romantic retreat with your loved one, and enjoy all that Devon has to offer.

Despite its humble appearance, The Shed with a View is a real treat. The open plan living area makes you feel like you are sitting outside, with its large full-length windows. The comfortable bedroom has a lovely en-suite and there is a well equipped kitchen. Guests can enjoy the surrounding land which has a summerhouse overlooking the pond and is conveniently located in the charming area of East Devon, making this an ideal base from which to explore all of which Devon has to offer or simply as somewhere to hide away from the world for a few relaxing days.
During your stay, there is plenty to see and do. The bustling town of Crediton or the regional capital of Exeter is with easy reach. At Bickleigh Mill, there is some lovely scenery as well as restaurants and shopping facilities. There are National Trust properties at Arlington, Castle Drogo and Knighthayes. The property is almost equidistant between the northern tip of Dartmoor and the southern tip of Exmoor, for those looking to explore these areas. There are also plenty of local walks into the surrounding countryside. The beaches of both south and north Devon can be reached with relative ease. There is cycling, golf and fishing all locally available. Shop 2½ miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Absolutely lovely place. Great communication with the owners and the cream tea was a lovely touch. Everything is finished to a really high spec and the view was fab. The only comment was the WiFi wasn't great but that's not a bad thing when you want to get away from it all.

The Shed With A View is a perfect holiday hideaway. The view from the floor to ceiling windows is spectacular and the peace and quiet is just what I needed as a break from my busy life! It was also perfect for my dog as he could wander about on the enclosed terrace before I was ready to take him out for the day. I took my time in the mornings enjoying breakfast whilst admiring the view and ventured out mid morning to visit Tarr Steps on Exmoor, Exmouth Beach and various locations on Dartmoor, all less than an hours drive from the cottage. Near by Tiverton has all the shops you might need for a longer stay, Cadbury Castle is within a short walk and there are also local walks to be enjoyed. The cottage is extremely well designed and very eco friendly. I did not need the heating on except in the late evening and there is a very sophisticated ventilation system which ensures fresh air circulates through out the building. The shower is also very powerful with loads of hot water. Mike and Sheila are really friendly and on hand for any assistance or advice required. All together an ideal rural retreat in the beautiful county of Devon.

Beautiful location and a beautiful place to stay! The owners made us feel very welcome and made sure we had everything we needed. Our only complaint is the squeaky bed. Everything else was fab. We'd like to stay again but for longer next time!

The accommodation is lovely, very clean and modern. As other reviews mention there is the nice touch of scones on arrival. It is also very dog friendly with spare towels, poo bags and throws for the settee. The only downside was the dicey track to the shed, it's really tight, long and overgrown with loads of sharp bumps so you're scratching the sides of the car all the way down it. It is to be expected to some extent as it is a farm but still, it would put me off returning if I had a nicer car. Overall we had a relaxing and cosy stay.

Myself, partner and dog Lola have just come back from our holidays... and I truly can’t recommend it enough! We arrived late in the evening which Mike and Sheila accommodated for us, we had everything in the property which we could possibly of needed during our stay including eco friendly products.... Theirs even allocated dog towels and disposal bags, it has such a dog friendly welcome and accommodating. With being 5 months pregnant it was ideal for relaxing and exploring, all the furnishing were comfortable and clean... All the property was spotless and fresh, we had lovely scones which Mike and Sheila had given us alongside three sets of beautiful hand picked flowers! And just before leaving on our last day we was given two lovely bouquets to take home with us! We did endless amounts of exploring and adventures... Crow point was recommended by Mike which was spot on for Lola to be let off the lead and run freely along the sea without it being too crowded. Theirs plenty to do and some great places to eat. I would highly recommend going if you’re after a country get a away especially if you have fur babies! We will definitely be returning next summer! Thank you again Mike and Sheila.

Great location and accommodation for us and our dog. Lovely host Mike & Sheila, very helpful with information and fresh scones with Devon cream and jam on arrival. Will be recommending this great place to friends and family. Access down a country lane has been repaired and cleared during our stay! Many thanks for our lovely holiday.

The " shed" is a very comfortable , private, well equipped and as the name suggests, has a stunning view. We really enjoyed our week and waking up every day to a vista of green hills, fields, sheep and cows was a really lovely way to start each day. Mike and Sheila were very helpful and great hosts. We have already recommended the " shed" to friends.

A very pleasant place to stay, but the lane to the cottage has many potholes, and needs some repairs.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; After our first online complaint about the state of our access lane, it is ironic that the potholes were repaired yesterday. We try very hard to give our guests a good holiday - a sentiment not shared by Highways who have taken seven months to respond to our requests.

Very friendly, helpful hosts & delicious cream tea to welcome us. Lots to do in the local area & we were impressed by where other visitors had ventured out to (from reading comments in the Visitors book). We cut our holiday short by a couple of days due to heavy snow being forecast &, although it was disappointing to leave early, we have every reason to return in the future. Very enjoyable few days away in comfortable 'Shed'. Thank you.
