Description

Leave all your worries at home and head off on a romantic retreat with your loved one, and enjoy all that Devon has to offer.

Despite its humble appearance, The Shed with a View is a real treat. The open plan living area makes you feel like you are sitting outside, with its large full-length windows. The comfortable bedroom has a lovely en-suite and there is a well equipped kitchen. At Bickleigh Mill, there is some lovely scenery as well as restaurants and shopping facilities. There are National Trust properties at Arlington, Castle Drogo and Knighthayes. The property is almost equidistant between the northern tip of Dartmoor and the southern tip of Exmoor, for those looking to explore these areas. There are also plenty of local walks into the surrounding countryside. The beaches of both south and north Devon can be reached with relative ease. Great location and accommodation for us and our dog. Lovely host Mike & Sheila, very helpful with information and fresh scones with Devon cream and jam on arrival. Will be recommending this great place to friends and family. Access down a country lane has been repaired and cleared during our stay! Many thanks for our lovely holiday.

The " shed" is a very comfortable , private, well equipped and as the name suggests, has a stunning view. We really enjoyed our week and waking up every day to a vista of green hills, fields, sheep and cows was a really lovely way to start each day. Mike and Sheila were very helpful and great hosts. We have already recommended the " shed" to friends.

A very pleasant place to stay, but the lane to the cottage has many potholes, and needs some repairs.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; After our first online complaint about the state of our access lane, it is ironic that the potholes were repaired yesterday. We try very hard to give our guests a good holiday - a sentiment not shared by Highways who have taken seven months to respond to our requests.

Very friendly, helpful hosts & delicious cream tea to welcome us. Lots to do in the local area & we were impressed by where other visitors had ventured out to (from reading comments in the Visitors book). We cut our holiday short by a couple of days due to heavy snow being forecast &, although it was disappointing to leave early, we have every reason to return in the future. Very enjoyable few days away in comfortable 'Shed'. Thank you.

Wonderfully positioned, but nicely secluded property with fantastic view's across the countryside. Sitting midway between Tiverton and Crediton so not too far to travel, or find things to do. The property has everything you need to have a relaxing break, with attentive, but not intrusive, hosts. Don't often consider a return visit as we like to explore other properties, however there are always exceptions and this is one of them. Would certainly recommend this one for a stay.

The cottage had everything you needed and very clean and comfortable. The view was amazing. We were able to take our two dogs and the flooring was dog friendly. The couple lived at the top of the drive and were very helpful. We were lucky with the weather the sun shone and was very warm for December. Recommend this cottage.

We had an amazing time at “the shed”. As described, the view is amazing, Mike & Sheila are the perfect hosts, totally dedicated to making sure you have the best stay possible. There is so much to see & do both locally and if you don’t mind an hours drive or so. We’d recommend “the shed” to anyone!! We’ll definitely be back. Scott, Pam & Murphy the Cairn Terrier

The 'shed' is home from home. There is everything you need. Mike and Shiela have thought of everything. From the welcoming scones with jam and cream to leaflets of what to do in the area. I can't say enough about the amazing views. Waking up every morning to the cows and sheep which kept us entertained all day. We sat for hours on the veranda just looking at the view. Mike has done an amazing job in the wildlife conservation. Very knowledgable and happy to share and show you his efforts. If you like snakes, butterflies or just flowers you will love 'The Shed'. You get to see Buzzards, owls and the bats which will keep u amused in the evenings. I honestly can't recommend this cottage enough. Brilliant hosts and amazing views.
