Description

Enjoy a walking holiday from this property, with the Teign Valley within easy reach.

These two stone barn conversions are set on the owners’ small 65-acre farm at the head of the Teign Valley in the heart of rural Devon, yet just 5 miles away from the historic cathedral city of Exeter.
Ideally situated for couples or small families looking for a complete ‘get away from it all’ location. These properties are ideal for holidays and short breaks all year round, perfect for summer holidays in delightful Devon, and with the wood burners making them cosy for winter breaks. The properties each have a small garden and shared use of a beautiful fishing lake with ducks paddling, and wooden furniture, making an ideal spot for a picnic on a sunny afternoon. The owners keep some sheep and cattle on the land, and their two pet donkeys in the paddock above the lake are a hit with the children. The Teign Valley is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and some lovely walks can be taken here, as well as in Dartmoor National Park, which is only a short drive away. In the spring the woodlands are well-known for the fantastic display of daffodils and bluebells. Nearby you can also try horse riding, golf and fishing. Beach 15 miles. Shop 3½ miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

It's a 'one' for local amenities because the cottage is on a farm, and it's at least 20 minutes to the nearest shop. However, it's a beautiful part of the world, and if you want to get away from it all, it's perfect. (In the photo, the cottage is on the left of the picture), It is NOT suitable for pets, as there are guinea fowl running around.

I wasn’t happy with number of cobwebs in the property and spiders which indicated no cleaning. I didn’t receive the welcome pack and small items like salt weren’t even provided. No members of the family had a mobile signal despite being on different networks and the property was located at the end of a single track with few passing areas and many potholes

We had a lovely break and really enjoyed the cottage with our 2 Year old. She loved the donkeys. The only negative was the need to use the car every day as the roads were not safe for walking with a child.
