Really lovely cottage , friendly hosts . Only negative is no garden , have to sit on bench in owners large driveway , so not really suitable for a holiday home listed as dog friendly .

Fantastic host. Walks from the door. Desirable village well located for winchester. Market towns. New forest and the beach. No traffic noise. No footpath through the village but very polite drivers giving you and your dog a wide berth.

We had a fantastic break at yew tree cottage! We used it as a base for our Christmas shopping holiday, so visited Portsmouth, Southampton and Winchester which were all within easy distance. On other days we just enjoyed walks in the beautiful countryside around us and the lovely cosy comfortable cottage!

The cottage is spacious and well-equipped, and the heating system worked beautifully when the weather turned chilly. The location is lovely and Tessa and Nigel are ideal hosts, never obtrusive but always there to help and spend time explaining things, even when busy themselves. As readers and crossword puzzlers, the only thing we would have wished for was a little more light (the barn conversion only has windows in one side, with an overhanging thatch). Taller and more targeted reading lights would solve the problem. But we were there to see the area and had a wonderful week, walking, driving and sightseeing during the day and enjoying the local pubs and restaurants in the evening.
