Description

Nestled in the perfect location to enjoy beautiful countryside walks and long sandy beaches, making this barn conversation ideal for a family holiday.

These three barn conversions (refs UKC3108, UKC3109 and UKC3334) stand in a semi-rural location, adjacent to horse stables and accessed along a track. The Parlour and The Old Dairy are beautifully refurbished, semi-detached, single-storey barn conversions. They are ideal for couples or families, each with a light and spacious open plan living/dining room/kitchen, with a wood burner and folding doors which lead out to an enclosed part patio/part lawned garden with sitting-out area, garden furniture, Wendy house, barbecue and hot tub! There is also a shared games room with table football, table tennis and magnetic darts, and for guests who would like to bring their horse, stabling can be arranged by prior arrangement with the owner.
The Haybarn is an incredibly spacious and stylish detached holiday home, where the attention to detail and high standard of finish can be seen in every room. On entering, guests are greeted with a stunning view through from the entrance hall through to the living area, where there is a striking full length window overlooking the garden and fields. The living/dining room has a modern wood burner, high vaulted beamed ceiling and a bar area - ideal for those family celebrations! Many thoughtful and personal touches have been added, such as books, family games and a record player with a large selection of vinyl records. All of the rooms have a sumptuous feel, with careful co-ordination, very high levels of comfort and design. The bedrooms are all themed with feature wallcovering to one wall, using beautiful interior design. Outside, the landscaped enclosed garden has a large lawned area plus patio areas, a hot tub, a ’chill out’ room, outdoor table tennis, a playhouse, slide, boules, outdoor large chess set, badminton net, 5-a-side football and a barbecue – there really is something for all age groups!
The properties lie on the National Cycle Network, and this area is known for its scenic walks and wildlife. There is a direct gravel track along the Castleman Trailway (the old railway line) to miles of woodland walks making this ideal for walkers and cyclists. One route leads to a pub, Chinese restaurant and golf course (all within 20-minute flat walk). Cranborne Chase and the Jurassic coastline (Purbecks, Swanage and Wareham) are within easy reach, the latter being a nationally protected Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and offers extensive scenic walks and a wealth of wildlife. Wimborne is a market town with a historic town trail taking in the buildings ranging from the 15th to 17th centuries. Here you will also find the popular Tivoli theatre, model town, coffee houses, shops, market and restaurants. The sandy beaches at Bournemouth and Poole are just 10 miles away and Sandbanks, Studland Bay and the Poole Natural Reserve are within easy reach. National Trust properties Kingston Lacy Estate, Badbury Rings and Brownsea Island are a short distance away.
Moors Valley has scenic walks and is excellent for wildlife spotting. There is a range of activities in the area including fishing, cycle hire, golf and Go-Ape Tree Top Adventure. The New Forest National Park is easily accessible, and provides miles of scenic walks and a network of bridle paths and footpaths, and the ponies and cattle roam the streets in the picturesque villages. The properties are conveniently placed for road links to the cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury, Christchurch harbour and the iconic Stonehenge. Beach 10 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Simply the Best. We have stayed in lots of holiday over the years and this cottage is the best by far. Fitted out to a very high standard, comfortable, warm and everything we needed. Owners are creating a great place for a break away from it all with another larger rental property just being finished off. Need now to find enough bodies to fill the new place as it looks fantastic.

This was a clean modern cottage set in a working farm in excellent order and with all mod cons. The owners could not have been more helpful. It's in a good spot for getting out and about to see both Dorset and the New Forest.

No wifi as per July 2018, I needed it to complete work on the Friday, and during the stay to use online maps/ find restaurants etc without stripping our phone data, so very annoying! I would not book again if the wifi isn't sorted. Never saw the owners or the hot tub cleaner in the seven days we stayed. Unusual, as all previous stays elsewhere, the owners have popped round to say hello. Good quality fixtures and fittings, not much noise from the building site adjacent. Although quite a bit of dust, patio dining table was caked in it (tobacco also), had to give it a good clean first. These are small niggles and easily eradicated, the quality interior made up for the glitches. Overall then, I would recommend.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that there were some things that you weren't happy with. Despite many phone calls and emails to BT, they kept letting us down and we were also very frustrated with the lack of WiFi. We did explain to people on arrival and gave them our apologies, but your visit corresponded with our family holiday and sadly, it appears that this was not explained to you. This has now been resolved and WiFi is working in both properties. The dust was due to us experiencing the driest summer in years and, being a farm, this is one of the drawbacks. Your arrival was the day after the first heavy rainstorm in a long time and of course this played havoc with the windows and any glass items outside. However, I must apologise for the tobacco. Getting the cottages ready for guests is my job and as I was away, it appears that this was missed. With regards to the hot tub, we are a small family business and undertake the maintenance ourselves. There is always someone at the farm and so we are able to check the hot tub when guests are out so that they are not disturbed. We value their privacy and experience has taught us that guests like to arrive at their leisure and find their own way around without being shown by us. However, we make it clear in our welcome email that someone is always on hand to help with anything if required. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay overall and look forward to welcoming you back again.

Stunning beautifully decorated, modern, clean cottage in a rural location where you can relax in the hot tub or walk in the woods. The owners have put so much thought into all the little things to make you feel at home. Kids loved the games room. A little luxury for a special weekend break. Didn't want to leave!

Response on behalf of the Owner; How super to hear such lovely comments. Thank you... so glad you enjoyed your break.
