On the edge of the village of Horton, this lovely cottage is located within easy reach of the south coast and the south downs with historical treats like Kingston Lacey and Corfe Castle to discover. There is a wonderful stretch of coppiced woodland close by for the family dog with many quaint villages and an inspiring ancient church ruins in the area to explore. Guests can expect basic supplies as well as a huge Victoria sponge cake curtesy of Fiona. The beds are very comfy and kitchen/diner look out onto a wildlife haven of lawns and fields. Sofas are 'compact' and entertainment systems a bit basic but as the visitor book testifies, many happy return visits by satisfied guests.

We enjoyed a lovely week with our dog in early November. Following a warm welcome from the owner who was very helpful in recommending places to walk, visit and eat; however, we didn’t need to go out and eat as the cottage has all the facilities to eat at home in front of the log fire. The weather was a little wet and chilly at times, but the cottage is warm and cosy. We would definitely consider another stay at Castle House Cottage and thank you to the owner for making us feel so welcome
