A superb holiday cottage with everything catered for including hot tub towels and dog towels. Couldn’t fault, despite pretty awful weather we had a very comfortable week. The Barley Mow is good The Old Inn at Holt even better. Will be back if age permits

A fabulous cottage where the owners have literally thought of everything...and we've been to a lot of holiday cottages! Even the dog treats were a fab addition. We loved the treasure hunt and the house was spotless. Only negative is the sofa is quite uncomfortable, the cushions have been well used, but that is it! We took our own fans as the property was warm in the 26C heat...however the bedrooms are cooler. The location was excellent for travelling locally, Barford Ice Cream Farm is amazing, we went 3 times!! 20 mins from Poole. We travelled all over and it was an excellent base. The owners were fabulous and answered any query really quickly. Thank you!

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thanks so much for leaving a review. So glad you all enjoyed your break... and I will add Barford Farm to my welcome letter as a good place to visit. X

A perfectly laid out cottage with great attention to detail. A perfect base from which to explore the Dorset coast or the New Forest. Our dogs were catered for just as well as we were. We are already planning our return visit.

Had a lovely stay at the Parlour where the hosts have thought of almost everything. The treasure hunt they provide is also great fun. Only improvement I'd like to see is a better road leading to the cottages.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Sadly, one of the disadvantages of being on a farm is that at times the lane does get dips in it. This is usually after a lot of rain or cold weather. We repair the lane at different times during the year but unfortunately, it always gets bumpy again. We are glad that you had a nice time in the parlour and that you enjoyed the treasure hunt. I must admit that we do get a lot of nice comments written in our guestbook about the fun people have had trying to do it. Thank you so much for leaving a review and we hope that you come back again in the future.

Situated in a super location walks in the wood are a must. The pub/restaurant nearby was lovely as was the food and dog friendly. The parlour itself was great my only slight criticism is I would of like to control the heating as it became a little chilli at times

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Hi Sharon, thanks so much for leaving a review. We are sorry that you weren’t satisfied with the heating controls. We are very much open to suggestions but have been asked by guests to lock the heating settings in order to stop younger guests tampering with them. There is a log burner in the lounge which guests are encouraged to use and we do leave a starter pack of logs. More are always available if required. We are glad that on the whole, you enjoyed your stay and hope you come back one day. Regards Sam.
