Description

With country walks and bridleways to explore, why not make the most of the on-site stabling and bring your horse on holiday?

These three barn conversions (refs UKC3108, UKC3109 and UKC3334) stand in a semi-rural location, adjacent to horse stables and accessed along a track. The Parlour and The Old Dairy are beautifully refurbished, semi-detached, single-storey barn conversions. They are ideal for couples or families, each with a light and spacious open plan living/dining room/kitchen, with a wood burner and folding doors which lead out to an enclosed part patio/part lawned garden with sitting-out area, garden furniture, Wendy house, barbecue and hot tub! There is also a shared games room with table football, table tennis and magnetic darts, and for guests who would like to bring their horse, stabling can be arranged by prior arrangement with the owner.
The Haybarn is an incredibly spacious and stylish detached holiday home, where the attention to detail and high standard of finish can be seen in every room. On entering, guests are greeted with a stunning view through from the entrance hall through to the living area, where there is a striking full length window overlooking the garden and fields. The living/dining room has a modern wood burner, high vaulted beamed ceiling and a bar area - ideal for those family celebrations! Many thoughtful and personal touches have been added, such as books, family games and a record player with a large selection of vinyl records. All of the rooms have a sumptuous feel, with careful co-ordination, very high levels of comfort and design. The bedrooms are all themed with feature wallcovering to one wall, using beautiful interior design. Outside, the landscaped enclosed garden has a large lawned area plus patio areas, a hot tub, a ’chill out’ room, outdoor table tennis, a playhouse, slide, boules, outdoor large chess set, badminton net, 5-a-side football and a barbecue – there really is something for all age groups!
The properties lie on the National Cycle Network, and this area is known for its scenic walks and wildlife. There is a direct gravel track along the Castleman Trailway (the old railway line) to miles of woodland walks making this ideal for walkers and cyclists. One route leads to a pub, Chinese restaurant and golf course (all within 20-minute flat walk). Cranborne Chase and the Jurassic coastline (Purbecks, Swanage and Wareham) are within easy reach, the latter being a nationally protected Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and offers extensive scenic walks and a wealth of wildlife. Wimborne is a market town with a historic town trail taking in the buildings ranging from the 15th to 17th centuries. Here you will also find the popular Tivoli theatre, model town, coffee houses, shops, market and restaurants. The sandy beaches at Bournemouth and Poole are just 10 miles away and Sandbanks, Studland Bay and the Poole Natural Reserve are within easy reach. National Trust properties Kingston Lacy Estate, Badbury Rings and Brownsea Island are a short distance away.
Moors Valley has scenic walks and is excellent for wildlife spotting. There is a range of activities in the area including fishing, cycle hire, golf and Go-Ape Tree Top Adventure. The New Forest National Park is easily accessible, and provides miles of scenic walks and a network of bridle paths and footpaths, and the ponies and cattle roam the streets in the picturesque villages. The properties are conveniently placed for road links to the cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury, Christchurch harbour and the iconic Stonehenge. Beach 10 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

We had an amazing weekend stay. The Parlour was very clean and comfortable and of a very high standard. We love the attention to detail, the surprise hunt for the children, and the games room as an example. A very comfortable huge bed, and very enjoyable bath. To name but a few delights. Would highly recommend and hope to go back

What a fantastic place to spend quality family time. The parlour not only lived up to our very high expectations, it exceeded them! The high quality fixtures and fittings, abundance of kitchen equipment, comfy superking bed, cosy wood burning stove, spacious luxury bathrooms in conjunction with personal touches such as welcome cake and milk, crackers and Christmas napkins, a real Christmas tree all decorated, treasure hunt with prize, extra towels for the hot tub and even dog towels all meant we had one if our best cottage stays ever! Thank you!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; That really means a lot to us. It’s our first year and we are still learning the ropes so it’s really good to get such positive feedback and to hear we are doing ok. We hope you come back again. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review.

What a fabulous place!!!!! This is the place to go for a fabulous relaxing break . The owners deserve 10 out of 10 for their attention to detail ... spotlessly clean and they are so obliging, this place cannot be faulted. It feels like you are in the middle of nowhere but all facilities are within a couple of miles ..... the only thing that could be faulted is the poor internet service ... everything from the cottage to the hot tub ... Fantastic .... and if you want to eat out the Old Thatch is the nearest and the best food there

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for such a lovely review. It was a pleasure to meet you and we are so glad you had such a good time. Concerning the internet, Open Reach have found a fault beyond our property and fixed it today (03/01/19). Apologies that this wasn’t done whilst you were staying, but glad it didn’t alter your opinion of The Parlour. We hope to see you again.

We went away to celebrate my mum's 70th birthday & had the most amazing time. The owners have thought about everything and the quality of the cottage and everything in it is second to none! In particular we loved the games room (table tennis) & the hot tub was a fabulous addition. Can't fault anything about the place can't wait to come back very soon.

The Parlour is absolutely stunning. It was fabulous to have somewhere so luxurious that accepts dogs. The welcome treats were a lovely added bonus. Great location for visiting the coast. Shops were a few minutes drive away. Lovely quiet location, cottage is joined to another but it feels private. Lovely huge woodland just through the farm. The only downside for us was the lower fence at the bottom of the garden, it was lovely for the view but our dog would have managed to jump it if she had seen a deer, so we couldn't trust her outside off lead. We saw 3 deer in 2 days! Small or less reactive dogs I feel would be fine.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Glad you enjoyed your stay. With regards to the fence, we could easily rectify this by installing a temporary higher fence. Next time you come, just let us know and we will do this in advance for you.
