This superb, detached, seven-bedroom, English thatched country cottage is a delightful holiday home which offers many original architectural features in keeping with the character of a period house, such as beams, leaded windows, original inglenook fireplace and thatched roof. Offering spacious, tastefully styled accommodation, this wonderful thatched country home makes an ideal base for families or couples wishing to stay in the New Forest National Park and close to the sea.

With no close neighbours and surrounded by fields on all sides, the property has 4 acres of gardens, with the outdoor heated swimming pool (heated June to mid-September) being the focal point of the rear garden, easily reached through two sets of large French doors from the spacious kitchen. There is also a large area for playing ball games, two other large lawns, a double barbecue, outdoor furniture and a separate fenced off area with stable which can be used for dogs if required. The owners have a separate annexe adjacent to the property which they occasionally reside in.

The property is located just 3 miles from Lymington and within the New Forest National Park itself, which is a haven for wildlife, with many roaming ponies across the heathland, extensive walking, cycling and riding routes. There is plenty to do in the area for all ages, all year round. The popular sailing town of Lymington is only a 5-minute drive, with its pretty harbour, cobbled pedestrianised streets, boutiques, eateries, pubs and day trips to Isle of Wight by ferry. Other places of interest include Beaulieu Motor Museum, Bucklers Hard, Marwell Zoo, Peppa Pig at Paultons Park, New Forest Owl and Otter Park and Southampton, to name but a few. The property is also within easy reach of many beaches, including Mudeford, Sandbanks, Poole and Bournemouth, the nearest beach being less than two miles away. There is a local convenience shop a 2-minute drive away (800 yards) and a local pub and restaurant within walking distance (600 yards).

Hosts Mark and Lesley were very welcoming and our extended family thoroughly enjoyed staying in their home. The house was beautiful, spotless and everything we could have hoped for. Even the dog looked sad when it was time to leave!

Silverland is an excellence rental cottage. The owners are so friendly and helpful. The property is wonderful, although we did struggle at times using the Aga (so used to gas). Cannot recommend this property enough and would happily stay here again.

Such a lovely home. We had a great weekend stay. The house is well equipped, comfy beds, lovely linen. The owners are delightful, very helpful. Nice welcome pack. Beautiful garden with nice furniture. Close to Lymington and not far to the sea. Would highly recommend for a large family gathering or like us a girlie weekend.

We had a lovely weekend. It is a great house for a family get together. We were worried that the owners annex was so close to the house, but Mark and Lesley made us feel very welcome and it was nice to know if there had been a problem they would have been close to sort it out. There was a pool which was very cleanand inviting, but unfortunately it rained. However, rain did not spoil play. The house was well stocked with games, books and videos, which we did not have time to watch, but the children enjoyed playing with the games and toys.

Everybody who joined us for this family celebratory weekend at Silverlands commented on how beautiful the house was. We felt privileged to "own" the place for a few days, and we had a truly wonderful time. The house was very well appointed, everything we needed was there, it was very comfortable, and Lesley and Mark gave us a really warm welcome on arrival. Cooking on the Aga was a bit of an adventure... but it was a new experience and we ate well all weekend, so it was all fine! as we were having a family gathering, we didn't really venture out and about very much, although we did briefly visit local towns and of course the New Forest common ground. A very peaceful part of the world. I cannot praise this place highly enough, and I really hope we may find an opportunity to visit again.

My family of 11 ranging from 18 months to 81 + 3 dogs had a great week here.Plenty of space for all of us to sit together or have time on our own. The boys loved their rooms on the 3rd floor and the pool of course.Lovely extras are the nice seating outside as well as trampoline and a tree-house.The only reason I've not given a 10 is because you can't walk to a shop or pub as the road isn't suitable.Would definitely recommend.

Owner of property was very welcoming. Cottage more than comfortable for a large group of people. We spent most of our time in the large kitchen and patio area. All beds very comfortable, cottage is as good as it looks in the pictures, and the pool an added bonus. The only thing I would mention, there needs to be a sign-post for the cottage, as we over shot the entrance on many occassions. Would definitely go again.
