The priory town of Christchurch is also a short journey away with its beautiful harbour. Oakdene is in an ideal location for leaving the car and exploring close by attractions by foot.
Close by is a waterpark and both market towns of Wimborne and Ringwood are a short drive away, which also have a selection of shops, pubs and eateries. The coastline with its beaches at Bournemouth and Poole is within easy reach, as is the city of Salisbury with its medieval cathedral. There is much to visit further afield, in particular the unspoilt countryside of Dorset, famous World Heritage Jurassic Coast from West Bay, Bridport and on to Weymouth with its superb scenery and coastal walking. Spend a day at Lyme Regis with its harbour, renowned Cobb, beach and shops and enjoy fossil hunting, boating, swimming and fishing. There are many historic houses to visit in particular Forde Abbey and Gardens, or family attractions such as Pecorama, the quarries at Beer, or inland at the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton which is an adventure in itself. An amazing cottage, amazing holiday and even more amazing home made Dorset apple cake waiting for us when we arrived (as well as Prosecco chilling in the fridge!! Oakdene Lodge had everything we needed for a lovely week away, for the four of us and two Westies! It is central for many places - we visited Bournemouth, Poole, Sandbanks and even took a day trip to the Isle of Wight. The weather was glorious and certainly made the holiday in February somewhat special. Would definitely book Oakdene Lodge again.

Superb! Gorgeous property, everything you could possibly need was thought of. Fire laid ready to light, Prosecco chilling in the fridge, milk, tea and coffee provided along with a very generous bowl of fresh fruit and a huge home made cake. A vase of fresh flowers, the decor and atmosphere were just perfect. Would not hesitate to recommend to family and friends. Caretaker Nicole was very good, she noticed I had left my jacket behind and contacted me immediately to say she would post it on to me which was greatly appreciated.

Booked as a base to attend a family wedding. An amazing cottage, would definitely stay again. The cake left for us was out of this world! The little touches really made the stay extra special

A beautifully appointed and equipped establishment. My family were very impressed - only a cheese grater was not available.
