Situated on the upper outskirts of the village of Talsarnau on a quiet lane to the tranquil Caerffynnon Hall Estate and at the foot of a private wood with the ruins of an 11th-century look-out, this peaceful coastal village is within easy driving distance to both the town of Porthmadog, home of the Ffestiniog Railway and the seaside village of Harlech with its mighty Edward I castle. You can also visit Blaenau Ffestiniog with Zip World, the largest zip wire zone in the world, and Bounce Below where you can go trampolining deep underground! Horse riding and golf are also nearby. I would recommend the property. The view from this property is stunning. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. It is quiet at the edge of a village but you can walk to the local pub. The only problem we found was that the dining table in the pictures had been changed a tall table and bar stools. We had a few laughs trying to get my eighty year old mother on a bar stool to eat! I'm not sure it would have been suitable for young children either but it looked great.

The position was very good for scenery and quite close to shops & supermarkets in Porthmadog Not so good for bigger dogs to many sheep to let them run free except in the wood up to the old fort, or going to nearby beach's The Wi-Fi was down during our stay but when returning to this area we would try to book here as a first choice.

A lovely view in a lovely part of North Wales. Cleanliness was not great at all to the point we cleaned upon arrival. Closer detail is needed. Would recommend a family of 4 but not 6 due. We knew there was 1 bathroom as described however just 2 sofas and a tight dining table, not the one in the picture made meals either very cosy or some at the table whilst others eating off laps.

Simply superb. Probably one of the best holiday cottages we’ve stayed at. Location was wonderful with stunning views, the internal decoration was to a very high standard and well maintained. Clearly a well loved home! Lovely touch to leave milk, bread and some Welsh cakes on arrival. Didn’t want to leave!!

A lovely bungalow with magnificent views over the estuary towards Portmeirion. Clean and comfortable. Great decking area/garden furniture. Very good welcome pack on arrival. No shop in the village. The village pub seems to be a locals pub with a restaurant to the rear. There is a train station in the village, so you can visit other villages/towns by train if you don’t want to drive. Lovely beach in Harlech.

I have done a review on trip adviser for this lovely cottage. It is clearly a much loved family holiday home and not a commercial let. Photos on web site do not do it justice. Highly recommended but feel 4 adults plus children would be the max not really suitable for 6 adults. The standard of decor, and facilities are superb. We think small hand towels should hve been included but this is a minor point.
