Named after the peak most prominent in its view, Elidir Cottage nestles in a perfect location for exploring Snowdonia and the Lleyn Peninsula.

Named after the Snowdonia peak most prominent in its view, Elidir Cottage nestles on farmland just outside the quiet village of Bontnewydd. Detached from the farm buildings, this lovingly converted and tastefully co-ordinated 100-year-old property provides an idyllic setting and is the perfect base for relaxing or for exploring the Snowdonia National Park and the scenic Llyn Peninsula. Caernarfon Castle, Elidir (Electric Mountain), Mt. Snowdon and the isle of Anglesey can all be seen from the rear of the property and are well worth a visit. The cottage is a 10 minute walk from the village shop and pub or a 5 minute drive from the medieval walled town of Caernarfon, with its World Heritage listed castle. The Welsh Highland steam train passes through the village during the summer, providing scenic views from Caernarfon to Porthmadog. The Lon Eifion cycle path is accessible from the village and provides a popular route for visiting Caernarfon. Horse riding and golf are also available locally. The property is 5 miles from Dinas Dinlle beach, which is popular with families, or 20 miles from Ty Coch, the famous pub on a sandy beach. 15 miles to the west is the world’s longest zip wire ride - at Bethesda quarry. Elidir Cottage can be booked with Gadlas (ref OE9) to sleep up to 10 guests. Shop and pub 1/2 mile.

Living/dining room with feature fireplace and aged oak floor. French doors to patio. Well-equipped kitchen. Double bedroom with 5ft half-tester bed and en-suite shower room and toilet. Twin bedroom (zip & link can be double bed on request). Bathroom with shower cubicle and toilet.

Quite simply one of the best cottages we have stayed in. We have stayed many cottages over the years, and this is amongst the best of them. The cottage is spacious and comfortable with everything you need. Particular highlights are the powerful showers and the very comfortable seating in the lounge. The cottage is situated in old farm buildings that have been converted to a very high standard - there are two cottages at present and other than that there is a house and the lodge - you are surrounded by fields with views across the countryside. Just off the main A487 which gives you easy access to many of the areas top attractions. Caernarfon is just a few minutes away.

A good base to explore west Snowdonia, Caernarfon , Beddgelert, Bonant Gardens etc. Cottage had everything we needed including cows, sheep and views. Sian and Geoff very helpful and easy. Eating in cottage and out - oystercatcher, and black boy recommended - good. Trevor a pleasant little beach.

Ideally situated with Caernarfon close with good amenities and large supermarket. Yet cottage had rural feel looking on to fields with grazing cattle. Llanberis 20 minutes away with Snowdon and stunning scenery within easy reach. Porthmadog and railways also close by. Portmerion bit overrated but walks along estuary nice. Received warm welcome when arrived and cottage warm and cosy as well as being very clean. Beds a little hard for our choice.
