This cottage has a lovely location but is tired and dated . Windows are broken and many aspects of the property are dilapidated. Sadly this property was also dirty with a foul smell coming from the fridge which we found to be curdled milk in the door panelling , dead insects on window sills and dirty grill pans in the oven . The property is poorly equipped no kitchen scissors, no cheese grater, not enough plates and chipped cups and glasses . The glass in the windows is also broken as is one of the locks. Despite the lovely location having to clean the fridge ( which made me gag) and oven prior to even starting my holiday and my son cutting his mouth on a glass with large chip out of it had a big impact. WiFi is very poor but the beach is beautiful .

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We appreciate your comments, and are very disappointed that you found it necessary to to give us a low mark. In answer to your issues, there is only one small window with a crack in, not Windows plural as you stated and it will be replaced ASAP. Regarding cleanliness, we apologise and have spoken to the cleaning company, who have assured us this will not happen again. All kitchen equipment including crockery and glass ware has now been replaced. This also should have been reported to ourselves, by the cleaning company so we could act immediately. Regarding wifi, the cottage is in a very rural area, and does on occasion dip in speed, this is clearly stated in the particulars of the booking agents. We can't emphasise enough how important it is for us to be contacted if there is a problem on the day of arrival, so we can address any issues and our telephone number is available.

Cottage is ok. Don’t rely on WiFi. It has WiFi but doesn’t work. Beds very uncomfortable. Conservatory lovely and spacious. Property says dog friendly but when we arrived there was a note saying they were not allowed in pretty much every room bar the conservatory so not really dog friendly. Not as near to the sea as the photo of private gate access would have you believe. It is across a large field and even then only down to a boat ramp. Beautiful beach though about a 20 min walk away.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; The dogs are not allowed in the 3 bedrooms but they are allowed in every other room i.e. lounge, kitchen, dining room and conservatory. The beach is 5/10 min walk across the field and a short walk over the headland. As for WiFi it is checked every change over and works fine.

Have used this cottage several times before and always been satisfied. Needs work doing now - water ingress in lounge, windows do not keep the wind out, leak in conservatory roof, wi-fi does not work at all, hot tap in bathrooom kept running for no reason, 2 gates need adjusting as it was difficult to open them. Overall cottage is a bit tired but location fantastic.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; The contractors will be coming back to look at the conservatory roof and windows, the plumber will be called to check the tap, as for Wi-Fi, due to location it is a bit slow but does work fine and is checked every changeover.

Hafan cottage was great for the whole family . The layout meant children had plenty of space to play in the huge conservatory when it was raining .The secure garden meant dog and children could pop outside to play without having to worry about roads . The beach was fantastic and so close , they even found an octopus ! Perhaps the only downside was that when we got there there was no fuel for the fire even a starter basket and matches etc and it had been emptied of any salt , pepper etc and washing up liquid . If we had known we could have brought some , as the shops were quite a distance away and it meant getting back in the car again after a long journey.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We don’t supply a starter pack regarding the fireplace as stated on the website. We do leave a welcome pack tea coffee, milk, Welsh cake /bara brith, sugar. We are sorry regarding washing up liquid we will speak to the cleaning company as there should have been a bottle of washing up liquid left.

Autumn half term holiday so many places were closed but that didn't bother us. Hafan was lovely and clean and the owner was very helpful when we arrived in the dark, wind and rain and struggled to get the key safe open - user error on our part!!! It was very cold there Initially, but once again we called the owner who told us how to find and operate the central heating controls. It warmed up nicely after a while. Wifi is very very slow at times. Double beds could do with thicker mattresses as you can feel the bed frame underneath them. The oven door doesn't shut so we had to wedge it shut with the bin so not ideal but it worked. It's in a lovely location, so close to the sea and coast path for walking. Brilliant place for a summer family beach holiday. Superb views on some days. Shame it was too cold to enjoy the hot tub and the views from it!!! Comfortable and cosy and the doggies were very happy there. Plenty of garden for all to run about in and the field next door too. Huge conservatory which would be lovely in the summer.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are glad you enjoyed your stay at our cottage, the oven door has been fixed.

Spacious house, well equipped but not luxurious. Worn, dog friendly sofas. Leaky roof in the conservatory. Large well fenced garden. Fabulous setting in the back of beyond with views all around. Short walk to the beach and cliff paths. Nearest shops etc off season 8 miles away but Tesco delivered despite the storm. Great for a total chill out holiday.
