Yr Hen Weithdy (The Old Workshop) is a stunning converted stone building sleeping six which at one time was a workshop for the well known Penrhyn Estate. The property, which in 2011 was completely renovated to a high standard by the owner, is set in a quiet elevated location about a thousand feet above sea level in the heart of Snowdonia. The stylish contemporary accommodation comprises of an open plan lounge/kitchen/diner with original beams, first floor gallery and patio doors allowing stunning views. The two bedrooms on the ground floor have zip and link beds allowing the rooms to be used as twins or doubles. There is a large wet room on the ground floor with non slip floor. On the first floor there is an extremely desirable twin room with its own en suite with free standing bath. The entire property benefits from under floor heating. Views of the mountains can even be seen from the bath! In the distance it is also possible to see Penrhyn Quarry which is the largest working slate quarry in the world. With stunning far reaching views towards the Menai Strait and Anglesey this stylish holiday cottage is ideally located for walkers or bike lovers with access to numerous public footpaths leading towards the Carneddau mountains.  A new attraction is Zip World - a mile long zip wire.

Fantastic stay beautiful surroundings and great location to explore the area. Well appointed accommodation with additional requested items like travel cot and high chair all there ready to use, would definitely stay again, 6 adults and 1 baby stayed and didn't feel cramped.

This is a lovely cottage in a beautiful setting & the hot tub was brilliant with amazing views. A couple of things need attention to make this place a 10 out of 10. The upstairs bathroom needs a shutter or even a curtain as it is open to the bedroom which makes it un-useable when sharing the bedroom. Hand soap, toilet roll, washing up liquid & more than one tea towel as basics would’ve been appreciated. We took all our own breakfast food however the grill was broken. The bath towels are absolutely tiny, bath sheets would’ve been good. These small changes would make a big difference to a much more comfortable stay.

This cottage is excellent. I loved it, the peace and location combined with the weather made this an excellent holiday. We were made to feel welcome straight away with a bottle of wine after a long drive this was most appreciated. The hot tub was great and the accommodation was great, tho a little hot upstairs. Everyone was so friendly and we found our feet quickly felt at ease, I would love to come back.
