Situated in an ideal location in the heart of the conservation village of Kenmore, this end terraced cottage is within walking distance of the local hotel and pub, excellent restaurants and a deli. Guests can enjoy riverside walks, participate in water sports, and take a boat trip on the loch in season. Kenmore is at the head of Loch Tay and the loch beach is a great place for children to play or paddle. The village hosts regular events, and each January there is a ceremony to mark the opening of the salmon fishing season, as the River Tay is one of the finest angling rivers, and at New Year there is a great firework display.
Deuchars Cottage is a comfortable holiday cottage with a cosy wood burner in the living room which is ideal for relaxing in front of with a glass of wine after a day exploring the area. On the ground floor there is also a kitchen/dining room with quality appliances, a single bedroom and a family shower room with a walk-in shower. On the first floor there are two kingsize bedrooms with views to the loch.
If you like fresh country air and enjoy outdoor activities, within a short driving distance are some of Perthshire’s highest mountains , Ben Lawers, Schiehallion and a circuit of 7 Munro mountains offer excellent walking. The forests have some fine mountain biking trails and there is also white water rafting, bungee jumping and horse riding within driving distance. Kenmore has two golf courses with several others in the local area for golf enthusiasts. For a day out, Aberfeldy is only 20 minutes’ drive and well worth a visit with local independent shops, a supermarket, galleries, eating places, a community run cinema, a whisky distillery and an award-winning book shop. The nearby towns of Dunkeld, Pitlochry and Killin and the city of Perth are all within driving distance. If you would like to explore the mountains try a Highland safari and spot local wildlife including deer, peregrine falcons, ospreys and golden eagles. Shop and pub 50 yards, restaurant 60 yards.
