Located at the East entrance to the magnificent Falkland Estate, East Lodge is a B listed Tudor Style lodge and dates back to the 1800s. The lodge has been refurbished in 2021 maintaining the character of the property to provide luxurious holiday accommodation throughout. Immaculately presented this is an ideal location for couples and families to relax and unwind, and explore the picturesque surrounding scenery. The Lodge was likely designed by William Burn, one of Scotland’s foremost architects in the 19th century. William Burn was responsible for designing the magnificent House of Falkland (1839-1844) for the Estate owners of the time, Margaret and Onespherous Tyndall Bruce.
Immaculately presented throughout with colour coordinated furnishings on the ground floor the welcoming living room with dining table and wood burner for those cooler evenings is ideal for everyone to relax to plan the next day’s activities. The modern kitchen with breakfast bar is well-equipped and there is a boot room adjacent with a handy utility room with washing machine leading to a shower room with walk-in shower. There are two beautifully presented bedrooms on the first floor, both with a zip and link super kingsize bed which can be twin bedrooms on request; a large shower room with walk in shower completes the picture.
Step outside into the garden, just the spot for relaxing with a glass of wine or al fresco dining. Explore the historic estate and lovely grounds spanning 1900 hectares or stroll down into the conservation village of Falkand with quaint old lanes, or visit the majestic Royal Palace. The village has a wealth of local craft shops and good eateries, and there is also a handy café at the Stables on the Estate, open 7 days a week. For Outlander fans, Falkland is a must for it was the setting for some of this most popular series. For days out, enjoy a day at the seaside, the sandy beaches of the East Neuk of Fife are within 30 minutes’ drive. Walkers will love the Coastal Trail which takes you along the shore to old fishing villages with fabulous views over the Firth of Forth. For city days out, St Andrews, Perth, Dundee and Edinburgh are all within easy reach, and the local railway station has regular links to all the major cities.
