A very quiet holiday cottage in picturesque part of Scotland. The cottage is slightly tired in parts. Kitchen is new. Downstairs is completely open plan which we liked, so did our dogs. There is a lovely open fireplace which was great for when we returned on a cold wet afternoon before the central heating kicked in. I spent plenty of time in the conservatory with a coffee, a book and the dogs laying at my feet. The garden is enclosed, so very safe for the dogs. We were woken by knocking in the middle of the night on a number of nights. I think the house martins must have been returning home judging by the feather marks on the windows. Getting up and down the stairs was a little difficult for someone with arthritis and our son who has Downs. Our son loved his twin bedded room where he slept very well. The double bedroom has an ensuite with a bath, no good fo me but my wife managed it ok. The bed was very firm. A lovely cottage we would be happy to return to if it was not for the difficulty with the stairs. I am sure anyone who chooses to stay there will have a great time. Look out for the cattle from the farm, and the deer in the fields, and the huge hares racing down the track. Scotland never disappoints, even on a wet bank holiday week in May. Thank you for the flowers.

We base our assessment upon our vast experience of renting similar cottages all over the UK and abroad. We were not happy with the lack of bin rubbish bans and hygiene bags, considering the proximity of the refuse bins. We found the bed to be uncomfortable and lacking a mattress protector. My wife thought that having to "Strip the bedding" was a going a bit too far. Also though our request for extra logs was eventually answered, there were only six of these on arrival and it was a cold period. I will agree that upon contact with the owners, they did instruct us how to override the boiler controls. The cottage is large and does have some good facilities.
