The setting, on the south shore of Loch Tay, is peaceful and distinctly rural, with open hillside rising behind and sweeping views stretching across the water. Just a short drive away, the village of Kenmore offers a small but welcoming hub, with fantastic restuarants, bars, a village shop and access to scenic walking routes. The area is rich in natural beauty, with opportunities for gentle lochside strolls, more challenging hill walks, and a range of water-based activities including kayaking and paddleboarding.
A little further along the loch, Aberfeldy provides a wider selection of independent shops, cafés and restaurants, as well as attractions such as a popular local distillery and a community cinema. The surrounding region of Highland Perthshire is known for its forests, rivers and mountains, making it ideal for outdoor enthusiasts year-round. Whether it’s exploring nearby trails, visiting historic sites, or simply taking in the ever-changing light across the water, there’s plenty to experience at a relaxed pace.
Despite its sense of seclusion, the area remains accessible, with well-connected routes leading deeper into the Highlands or back towards central Scotland. Many guests, however, find the greatest appeal lies in staying close to the cottage, enjoying the stillness, the scenery, and the slower rhythm of life by the loch.
