Garden cottage is a delightful holiday let but it does need a little bit of tlc to bring it up to scratch. It's a Victorian building so you need to take that into account. I'm sure that the owners are well aware of the few minor things and they were very helpful during our stay. However there is one aspect prospective renters need to be aware of and it has nothing to do directly with Garden Cottage - that is the approach road to Castle Menzies itself, which you have to traverse to get to the cottage. It is truly dreadful and could wreck you car suspension if you take it too quickly. No idea why the Castle trust doesn't fix this.

Beautiful cottage set in a scenic location just a stones throw from Aberfeldy. The open fire makes for a cosy night in and separate bath/rain shower made for a lovely addition. Fantastic views from windows and wildlife surrounded-As we bumped into a few random stags just outside the house. The bird tray in kitchen window is also lovely to watch. Only thing letting this place down is the camping style cutlery, the fridge light wasnt working and better quality bedding in the rooms would certainly bring this to from an 8 to 10/10 stay. I’d recommend a small welcome pack for visitors as this would only add to the experience. So if you are visiting be sure to take your own soap, washing up liquid etc as this was missed.
