Description

Curlew Cottage is a great property for that romantic break, and is complete with a wood-burning stove and roll-top bath.

Set on a working arable and cattle farm, within the owner’s 2000-acre estate in the Vale of Strathmore, these three welcoming and spacious holiday properties have been restored to a very good standard. Islabank Farmhouse (ref SAAP) is a traditional, characterful, comfortable farmhouse which is ideal for families, Curlew Cottage (ref SYYJ) is a charming, beautifully converted, detached, single-storey property and a haven for wildlife. Still part of the farm but located 4 miles away is Osprey Cottage (ref UZQ), a delightful, light and sunny, single-storey detached cottage. Set amongst beautiful farmland and fruit-growing country, they make an excellent choice for relaxing breaks in the heart of rural Perthshire. The estate makes an ideal base for exploring central Scotland, Edinburgh, Perth, St. Andrews and the Highlands. Glamis Castle is a few miles away. Outdoor activities (golf, skiing, riding, cycling) are readily available. Shops and pub 3 miles.

Islabank Farmhouse (SAAP), Curlew Cottage (SYYJ), and Osprey Cottage (UZQ, 4 miles away) can be booked together to accommodate up to 12 guests.

Beautiful, well equipped and clean cottage, I can thourghly recommend it. I have stayed at two of their cottages now, superb for dogs. The garden is very secure, backing on to a small woodland, full of local wildlife, including red squirrels and spotted woodpeckers.

Excellent cottage, the pictures do not do the overall ambience any justice. Well equipped and in a lovely rural location well away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Would highly recommend!

Jan. 18th - 25th We spent a lovely time at Curlew Cottage. The peace and dare I say weather was superb. We went to Curlew Cottage to recover from a traumatic and tragic start to 2019. This was just what we needed. The cottage was in a quiet but accessible area to a village the peace was fantastic and Oscar our labrador was quite content to explore the garden as he is now getting old. The woodburner was fantastic the underfloor heating in the bathroom and all in all a very homely and lovely place. The welcome of wine and biscuits was a lovely touch and the flowers in the kitchen window made it really homely. Katie our host was exceptionally helpful when I had a little mishap. The wildlife was really nice to watch, i.e. pheasants woodpeckers blue tits chaffinches and the lovely red squirrel entertained us.

Fabulous week in a clean cosy well equipped cottage. The Log burner really enhanced the feel of the cottage with the cold weather and the abundance of wildlife in the garden was amazing to watch. No hesitation in recommending and we will certainly be returning I'm sure!
