The stables was a great base for us visiting friends in Oswestry, it would also be ideal for exploring Shrewsbury, North Wales etc. The cottage is beautiful - honestly the photos do not do it justice. It was warm even in February and Jo the owner seemed lovely. The jewel in its crown for us was just how well equipped they were for young children. They should make more of this in their listing because honestly, we didn’t need to bring anything from home and with a 3 year old and a 4 month old this is rare! Would highly recommend this accommodation and we hope to return in the future

Really enjoyed our stay, it absolutely hosed it down for pretty much the entire stay, but we were more than happy playing board games and cooking in the well equipped kitchen. I'd possibly caution against eating anything in the Bradford Arms at Knockin, but aside from that it's a lovely area and well worth a visit.

We love the stables great place great location friendly and easy going. If it’s the ritz your looking for look elsewhere it’s homely comfy great pub restaurant next door and just relaxing. As for local things to do walking exploring and for us just chilling walking the dogs up the canal towpath.

Really nice cottage, as per most reviews watch out for low beams. We'd seen this was the case before staying and it didnt bother us in the slightest but could be issue for others..Also bonus storage space for my fishing gear was very welcome.

Excellent little gem of a cottage. We enjoyed a relaxing weekend away with friends and the cottage had everything that we could ask for. The owners were lovely and we would definitely stay there again.

Great few days away with the kids. Cottage much larger than the photos show. Would definitely recommend.

Only fly in the ointment are the low beams in bedrooms - could cause problems for people with disabilities. Otherwise excellent.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: Thanks for your comments John, Im glad you enjoyed your stay at The Stables. We realise that the beams are rather low which is why we had them mentioned in the description for the cottage. On the plus side, we managed to get the bed in position in the master bedroom so you can get in and out without having to negotiate the beam
