The cottage was comfortable and well resourced, situated on the side of the canal but no direct view from the cottage. Having the Navigation Inn immediately on the doorstep was useful - nice food, very friendly and helpful staff. A quiet country pub with limited opening hours so proximity did not create noise problems. Currently there are local road closures which created difficulties in visiting nearby places of interest. SatNav just took us round and round in circles through extremely narrow country lanes! The owner did not meet and greet(keys left in garage) so we were unaware of recycling facilities, local facilities etc. Would consider a repeat weekend stay, very peaceful and relaxing, but probably nothing longer.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. May I apologise for not doing the meet and greet as I wasn’t available. The recycling tubs are actually left in the garage to avoid rubbish blowing around and I normally leave all of the information re its collection in the Welcome Pack on the kitchen table - my apologies if it wasn’t to be found. Also, there are usually 3 folders of local/tourist information in the living room. Again, I can only apologise if you couldn’t find it.

A lovely place everything you need (loads of games and dvd,s for small children should you need them). Extremely comfy and we felt right at home. Ideal location to explore either on foot or by car. The Navigation inn was excellent for food and friendly helpful service (doesn’t open Mondays though) all in all we have all ready tried to book again for our next holiday but found if to be all ready taken.

The accommodation was absolutely lovely. We had an issue with our car which somewhat spoiled the holiday from Tuesday onwards especially our contact with the AA but this was nothing to do with the cottage and the owner was extremely helpful. Thank you Jo. Hope to be able to go back to do the holiday proper justice sometime.

A good holiday overall, despite this being a rather isolated location, with only the unimpressive Oswestry within a reasonable distance. The cottage was well stocked with necessaries, and very warm - although the hot water didn't seem to be as consistent as a combi-boiler would suggest. Some surprisingly low beams were a bit of an issue for our 8 year-old too. The owner is very approachable and personable, and the fully lockable storage space outside was perfect for my MTB. The only reason we probably wouldn't rent this property again is because we like variety, and I would heartily recommend it - the building is well-stocked with stair gates and other amenities for young children.
