Offa’s Dyke is close by, while Bishops Castle, Clun and Ludlow are easily reached.

A well positioned stone holiday cottage at a midway point on the Powys/Shropshire border between the popular towns of Clun, famous for its castle, and Knighton, a town on the Offa’s Dyke path with its pretty timber framed buildings many dating back to the 17th century, its narrow sharply climbing streets lined with antique shops and a good selection of coffee houses and traditional inns, plus of course its strong connection to Owain Glendwr. Visitors can easily enjoy trips to nearby Ludlow with its castle, racecourse and numerous festivals. Enjoy a trip to Bishop’s Castle with its market town and home brewers, Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, Carding Mill Valley, Ironbridge, Bridgenorth, Attingham Park (NT) and Shewsbury. Other places of interest include Presteigne, home to the Judges Lodging, Churchstoke Country park, Powys Castle (NT) and Llanfair Light Railway. Shops and pub 2 miles.

A top value cottage but the access from the main road lets it down. Our car had to be reversed up hill on an unmade lane which in the dark is most unnerving.

This is our 3rd visit to Hope Cottage. The cottage is great for the 3 of us plus the fog, really comfortable, well equipped, cosy and just far away to get away from it all and relax. There is plenty to do and the cottage has an abundance of literature for all contingencies, there are plenty of walks from the cottage or from the Offas Dyke Centre in Knighton. Ludlow is only 20-30 mins away with great shopping, sights and restaurants. We are already planning out next visit, that is how much we love Hope Cottage. PS, the welcome pack is really nice too.

A very nice place to stay with plenty to keep you occupied (especially if you have a dog and a fondness for country walks) and easy access to the rest of Shropshire. If your taste is for relaxing rather than raucous, we can thoroughly recommend Hope Cottage.

excellent cottage..well equipped and clean.2 at the front and one by the side...One of the best we've stayed in.Huge for just 2 of us.Secluded garden.Good walk from the cottage onto the Shropshire hills..Only downful it was 2 1/2 miles to nearest town so couldn't walk to a pub in an evening.Lots of places to drive to though.

Lovely cottage.A good size considering it only has one bedroom. It had everything you needed ,everything was provided for you. Owners live next door but it didn't affect us.Plenty of privacy. Lovely patio area and stunning views. We would look forward to coming home to Hope cottage at the end of the day.Really cosy, with good size rooms. Would definitely recommend.

A most comfortable and well equipped house. The wood burner was a little difficult to regulate but we soon learnt ! The owners, next door, were really helpful and welcoming.

Hope cottage was one of the best holiday cottages we've stayed at. Well thought out and equipped, spotless and cosy. I've marked down due to remote location not that it was a problem to us just amenities were not nearby and that can be a bonus!!
