Hope Cottage is the former milking parlour for Lurkenhope Farm. The farm has been occupied for well over 1000 years and is mentioned in the Domesday Book as belonging to Eadric the Wild! The Cottage nestles in the heart of the Shropshire Hills amidst protected woodland and sheep farms. The owner’s property and one neighbour are on the same site. Hope Cottage is accessed via a short stone track from the main road. The property comprises of two floors. The spacious and airy bedroom is upstairs along with the bathroom. The manor at Stokesay is one of the finest surviving fortified manor houses in England and the National Trust property at Croft Castle is well worth a visit. The local amenities of Knighton with its shops (including supermarket), cafes and pubs are five minutes’ drive away (road not suitable for walking).
