Explore: Holiday Cottages in Coniston

The village of Coniston offers a wonderful mix of contrasts – not to mention a number of ways for you to enjoy your time on a holiday. The village itself is a delightful mix of stone built and whitewashed buildings with pubs, tearooms and local shops set under the rugged beauty of the Old Man, a fell that towers majestically over the region. Whilst admiring the view is a wonderful way to spend your time, more active explorations are available for hardier holidaymakers who fancy exploring one of multiple paths to the summit.
Coniston Water is a short stroll from the village. It was here that John Ruskin spent a large part of his life in his beautiful Brantwood home overlooking the lake, Arthur Ransome found inspiration for Swallows and Amazons and Donald Campbell attempted to break the water spend record in 1967. There are heritage museums and memorials to all to be found in and around Coniston. Despite a wealth of activities to enjoy in the surrounding area, Coniston holiday cottages are equally popular with those looking to enjoy the village’s prime location close to the heart of the Lakes with attractions in the south of the region also easily accessible.
