Golf Courses in Cornwall

The best places to play

Golf in Cornwall is an absolute delight. Not only do you have grand sea views and gorgeous green links but there are also plenty of inland courses to hone your skills.

With plenty of other attractions to enjoy, including some of Britain’s best pubs and restaurants to review the day’s play, there’s everything for experts and keen amateurs.

Mullion Golf Course, Lizard Peninsula

www.mulliongolfclub.co.uk

Mullion is a joy to play. Perhaps mainland Britain’s most southern course, there are amazing sea views to enjoy and sea breezes to avoid.

Some of the best greens and most tranquil holes make this one of the most satisfying golf courses in Cornwall, though it’s not without its challenges.

Book a tee time on the course website and leave plenty of time for food afterwards. You’ll have plenty to talk about!

St Enodoc, Rock, Wadebridge

www.st-enodoc.co.uk

Ranked one of the world’s top 100 courses, St Enodoc’s undulating surface and renowned history makes for one of the most memorable experiences of golf in Cornwall.

The club offers two different courses, a practice ground and two putting greens so it’s ideal for newcomers as well as more experienced players.

Thanks to a warm climate it’s also a year-round place to practice your putting. All this and there’s the fact that Poet Laureate Sir John Betjeman used to be a member (and is laid to rest in the small church by the 10th hole).

West Cornwall Golf Club, Lelant, St Ives

www.westcornwallgolfclub.co.uk

Lelant’s golfing heritage is not to be disputed; here Jim Barnes was born and learnt to play, eventually winning the inaugural PGA Championship in 1916.

West Cornwall is also Cornwall’s oldest club, so along with being one of the best places to play golf in Cornwall, it’s also a site of pilgrimage!

The course itself offers scenic, short drives to test your skills and a clubhouse filled with memorabilia.

St Mellion, Tamar Valley

www.st-mellion.co.uk

Situated in south east Cornwall, this course was designed by Jack Nicklaus and is widely regarded as one of his best – not least by the legend himself!

The Nicklaus Course is fiendishly designed, and its water hazards, bunkers and trees have challenged some of the game’s finest since opening for business in 1988.

The second ‘Kernow’ course is perfect if you fancy a more relaxed affair – with large greens, wide fairways and stunning views. Add them together and you have one of the finest locations for golf in Cornwall.

Bude and North Cornwall Golf Course, Bude

www.budegolf.co.uk

Lovely views and a great course, Bude & North Cornwall offers a perfect golfing holiday experience.

The course itself offers a quirky and memorable seaside links experience with undulating fairways and blind shots to challenge players of all abilities.

A slow burn across the first few holes soon gives way to a fantastic and memorable experience. You will definitely leave feeling that you’ve played on one of the finest golf courses in Cornwall.
