Seconds away from the beach, this cottage is set in a peaceful courtyard, and minutes away from Newquay, with Truro easily reached.

These converted holiday cottages have been furnished to a very good standard and sit in a secluded peaceful courtyard, only seconds from Porth beach with its beachfront pub serving local ales and home-cooked food on the terrace. The Stables by the Sea (ref TPT) and Driftwood (ref TNZ) both stand detached and each have parking for 1 car and a large decked roof terrace which enables guests to enjoy an evening barbecue or a peaceful breakfast in the sunshine.

The surfing town of Newquay with its seven stunning beaches is just minutes’ away and is easily accessible on foot along the coastal path. It has many attractions which include a multi-screen cinema, leisure centre, golf course, pitch and putt course, parks and gardens. Newquay has many restaurants, cafés and shops, as well as beaches, sea fishing trips and dramatic cliff-top walks. With its beaches comes surf and surf schools, so you can try your hand at this exhilarating sport. Visit many of the local attractions, such as Watergate Bay which is home to Jamie Oliver’s ‘Fifteen’ restaurant and the fishing village of Padstow, with its many excellent restaurants. Discover the flat walking and cycling trail that links Padstow to Wadebridge and hugs the shoreline of the beautiful Camel estuary all the way along. Bike hire is available at both ends of this stunning trail. Truro the capital of Cornwall is easily reached and is a must to explore the narrow streets and enjoy the restaurants, shopping, museum, cinema and theatre for an alternative day or evening out.

Both properties provide an ideal base to explore further afield. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project and many NT gardens, parks and houses are close by, such as Lanhydrock House and Trerice Manor. St Ives, Falmouth, Fowey and Mevagissey are all easily reached and all provide an alternative day out. Golf, cycling, horse riding, surfing, sailing, and kayaking area all available locally. Had a lovely week in Driftwood cottage. Beautiful location, with a nice deck overlooking the beach and a 30 second walk to the beach front. Both Newquay and Truro close by for bigger attractions. Tracey was a brilliant host, leaving little goodies for check in and was very understanding and helpful. Highly recommend this place, it is beautiful!

We had a excellent stay at Driftwood cottage. It had everything we needed for our stay. The view of Porth bay from the raised decking area was stunning. The location was perfect for driving to different locations ie Padstow as Newquay is in a fairly central location. The Boathouse restaurant on Newquay harbour is a must for sea food lovers as is Zachary’s at watergate bay hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cottage. We were impressed with all the thoughtful gestures eg the cream tea awaiting for us on our arrival, along with fresh flowers and a very generous welcome pack. The cottage was clean and beautifully renovated, and the view from the top deck was spectacular. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts and we will definately recommend Driftwood Cottage to friends and family.
