As you enter the property you you are welcomed by the flag-stoned hallway which leads to the living room, kitchen and then to a large bright dining room with shuttered bi-fold doors. This south-facing warm room is the heart of the house; it looks to a horizon, across farm and moorland, to the roofs of St Davids and to the west to Skomer Island and Jack Sound. The comfortable bedrooms have sash windows, brightly coloured rugs, beamed ceilings and original artwork. The former farmhouse is warm and welcoming, in a lovely setting and a great base for a Pembrokeshire holiday at any time of year.
St Davids Cathedral, both a historical monument as well as a place of worship, was built in 1181 and has weathered the centuries with varying fortunes. Visit the refectory in the newly restored cloisters for coffee or a meal and take time to enjoy the history and atmosphere of this very special place. Across the tiny river Alun is the ruined Bishops’ Palace with its lovely decorated stonework, wheel window, halls and stairways. Restored sufficiently to fire the imagination of young and old, let your children play while they absorb the atmosphere of this site of medieval power and influence. If you prefer to spend the day at the beach then Whitesands beach is a short walk away across the fields.
This property can be booked together with Wdig Cottage (ref. QC1264) and Wdig Wen (ref. QC1517) to accommodate up to 17 guests.

This is a lovely old farmhouse but possibly not massively suitable for very small children (we have a 2 year old) as lots of stairs and hard floors to negotiate.

Lovely Position - Very Secluded And Quiet Up A Long Farm Track With A Distant Sea View And Sheep For Neighbours. Only A Pleasant Ten Minute Walk Across Fields To Whitesands Bay. The Interior Of The House Was Very Simple And Stylish, With Muted Colours, Painted Floorboards And Shutters And Lots Of Original Features. The Glass Ceilinged Breakfast Room With Bifold Doors Was A Lovely Space. My Brother And Family Had The House Adjoining, Wdig Cottage, And We Opened The Dividing Door And Used It As One Big House Which Worked Extremely Well. However, The Divide Between The Two Properties Isn't A Straight One, Some Of The Farmhouse's Rooms Actually Form Part Of The Cottage, So If You Didn't Know Your Neighbours This Might Be A Little Strange, And The Lack Of A Utility Room In The Farmhouse Might Become More Of A Nuisance (Although There Is A Washing Machine And Tumble Drier In An Outbuilding). All In All We Had A Fabulous Week, And Will Definitely Be Booking Again.
