The Pheasant Hut is a gorgeous shepherd’s hut set quietly in the idyllic Cumbrian countryside situated on the banks of the River Irthing.
It was built by the owners and boasts a cosy and welcoming wood burning stove, a super comfy double bed and a marvellous shower room. There is everything you would need for that romantic getaway – peace, seclusion and beautiful views. The Pheasant Hut is fully equipped however if you don’t want to cook you can have a full English breakfast or a 2 or 3 course home cooked evening meal served in the owner’s home, or if you prefer to eat in, the owner can offer a menu of delicious homemade “ready meals” which you can simply pop in the oven! Go on, spoil yourself! Dogs are very welcome too and the fully enclosed paddock is ideal or they, and you can have a swim in the river. The Pheasant Hut is set in the heart of Hadrian’s Wall country in the beautiful Cumbrian countryside and a stone’s throw of probably one of the best parts of Hadrian’s Wall to walk. A short stroll will also take you to the 12th century Lanercost Priory where you can wander round the Priory and parts of Hadrian’s Wall, then enjoy a refreshing afternoon tea in the tea rooms. Talkin Tarn Country Park, just 2 miles from Brampton, with its 65-acre lake, set amid 120 acres of farmland and woodland is another lovely day out. The Tarn is an ideal place for recreation or a quiet stroll through the mature woodlands.
Take a drive out in the car and within 20 minutes you’ll be in the beautiful border city of Carlisle, with its array of high street shopping. Within 30 minutes you could be over the border into Scotland or in the Lake District National Park. There’s so much choice.
