Haughton Holidays are seven magnificent holiday lets that aim to provide guests with the perfect base to explore the surrounding area, be it for explorers, restaurant lovers, or simply people who just want to get away from everything, there’s something from everyone here! Aberdeen is a port city in northeast Scotland, where the Dee and Don Rivers meet the North Sea.
With an offshore petroleum industry, the city is home to an international population. It’s also known as the ‘Granite City’ for its many enduring grey-stone buildings. The Lecht Ski Centre is an alpine ski area in the Cairngorms in the Scottish Highlands. The ski slopes are set around the mountains Beinn a’ Chruinnich, and Meikle Corr Riabhach. Alford is a country town happily nestled in rural Aberdeenshire with a peaceful and tranquil feel to it. Skirted by the beautiful River Don and surrounded by the hills of Bennachie and Coreen, the area is a great place to relax from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There are lots to do in this town, fishing golf, and the local ski slope, (licence for fishing direct to owner at a surcharge), Alford Heritage Centre is an extraordinary collection of objects, books, and images housed in the old auction mart while Grampian Transport Museum is a treasure house of transport history displaying working exhibits and DVD presentations illustrating the history of travel and transport in North East Scotland.
Attractions near Alford include the Alford Valley Narrow Gauge Railway and the number of magnificent castles in the area such as the ruins of Kildrummy Castle Craigievar Castle and Castle Fraser with its impressive gardens. Across the area are an abundance of restaurants, pubs, and shops to make sure both your cupboards and stomachs are full!
These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 22 guests.
