Grey Craig is a delightful country cottage sitting in its own private grounds, surrounded by lovely gardens, and overlooks open fields and loch. Grey Craig was a farm building renovation completed in 2009, transforming an old farm cottage into a light and airy cottage, still retaining the feel of a traditional Dumfries and Galloway farm cottage. With its private hot tub on the patio, Grey Craig is the ideal romantic get away. Surrounded by a lovely lawned garden, hot tub on the patio and seating in the garden, Grey Craig is an ideal holiday destination. The living room has floor to ceiling patio doors, leading onto the patio and hot tub, and for the evenings has a lovely fireplace made from reclaimed stone and a particularly nice wood burner. The bedrooms are light and airy, with the master bedroom boasting a lovely comfy kingsize bed. There are lovely themed walks all around the farm, and a small children’s play area has been created, a short walk away from the cottage. Wildlife cameras beam all the nightly action live to your TV during the evenings.
Ideally situated just 5 minutes from the M74, Grey Craig Cottage is an excellent base for travel to the major cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Carlisle. The famous Gretna Blacksmith Shop, where weddings have been taking place since 1754, is just a 5-minute drive. The Lake District National Park is easily accessible for day trips. For walkers, Hardrian’s Wall, St Mary’s Loch and the Grey Mares Tail, driving through the small market town of Moffat, are all very close. The Solway Coast is within 5 miles of the cottage meaning a day at the beach is easy.
If you don’t want to travel very far, Grey Craig is an ideal holiday destination. There are have themed walks for all ages and abilities round the farm, where you can lose yourself in the peace of the woodlands, sit by the loch or get up close to the highland “Coos” in the fields. Wildlife is in abundance and the chances are you will see many deer on your walks. In the evening. sipping a glass of something nice in the hot tub the dark skies are amazing.
