An excellent base for exploring Wight West. Very comfortable accommodation with loads of room well maintained. The only real problem we had was in locating the bungalow. The mall was a very poor road better avoided. Would recommend coming off the Avenue into Amos Avenue then the Mall for a very short distance to Farthings Way.

Great location, the road to Gearys could be better but many of the local roads need updating. If you do not like spiders then you will have a problem as they live on the inside and outside, but no bother to us.

Nice quiet location and spacious but could do with updating in some areas. Kitchen and utensils weren't very clean and bungalow needed airing. Useful to have 2bathrooms and a big lounge area plenty of room for 6. Would have been nice to have a tv in childrens room. Lots of information about recycling but green bins and food waste bin were nowhere to be found.

Geary's is a very spacious and well equipped family home which makes a terrific base for a holiday on the beautiful IOW. The rooms are very large indeed and there is plenty of space for everyone. The location is superb. 5 minutes from the Lymington/Yarmouth ferry and close to the interesting shops and convenience stores of Freshwater, 15 minutes walk to Colwell Bay Beach and a 20 minute drive to the main town of Newport, which is best avoided if you don't like one-way systems. The neighbourhood is extremely quiet and peaceful. So much so that if you spend any time sitting on the delightful living room window-seat you will undoubtedly see some interesting wildlife. We found the garden to be a really nice and exceptionally private place to be and we would not hesitate to stay here again. We did however find a couple of negatives. And I am being picky purely because this place did cost a lot of money: At this price point a tumble dryer is to be expected. There is a washing line and an airer (or 'maid' if you're Northern, like my wife) but no dryer. We found the living area, bedrooms, bedding and bathrooms to be immaculately clean, but if I'm honest the kitchen could have been cleaner. My (grown up) kids reported that their beds were very comfortable, but we found the double in the master bedroom could have been a bit more comfy (or larger even) at this premium price point. That said, we slept mostly very well so it's not as if we couldn't sleep in it. In recent years the IOW has decided to catch up with the rest of Britain and introduce recycling. And to this end there is quite a lot of information presented with the intention of explaining what goes where and which bin(s) to put out. However, the only bins present were a small black wheelie bin and a plastic dustbin, and a written request on the kitchen table asking that all rubbish be put in the black bins. I can only imagine the recycling bins have gone missing? Anyway, we had a fabulous holiday and Geary's provided a clean, comfortable, welcoming and spacious base for us to do so.
