A 20-minute walk down the tranquil valley from Pendra Loweth will bring you to the golden sands of Maenporth Beach where you will find a superb beach café and the fabulous Cove Restaurant which has just been acquired by Michael Caines. Falmouth is a short drive away and here you can enjoy the wealth of fine restaurants and thriving pubs that this vibrant town has to offer. Explore from the Prince of Wales Pier to Custom House Quay, Events Square, where the Falmouth Oyster Festival and the shore-side activities for Falmouth Week are based, and the National Maritime Museum. There are also regular ferries from the Prince of Wales Pier and Custom House Quay that are well worth a day trip with destinations such as the beautiful St Mawes and the Roseland Peninsula or further up the River Fal to Trelissick Gardens, Malpas or Truro. Alternatively, you can explore down the Lizard and find England’s most southerly headland and lighthouse, the stunning Kynance Cove or the quiet of the Helford River and the inspiration for Daphne Du Maurier’s Frenchmans Creek.
