Spot on little cottage, very comfortable and cozy if a little outdated but I would absolutely stay again. Really helpful owners and very accomodating of our 3 pooches. Put a pint of milk in for us for a brew on arrival which was ace. Would recommend to anyone that stay.

We stayed the last week of September with 2 dogs and a toddler and had a lovely week. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and the cottage was immaculately clean with everything you needed. Lovely edge of village location with everything you need in barnard castle a couple of miles away. Lovely walk down to the river from the cottage. Overall we had a great weeks holiday and will look forward to coming back again.

Could be stunning - but it's damp and would benefit from some updating. It's a great size in a beautiful area - we had 4 adults and 2 children and a dog. Stunning views and a good size garden.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Yarker Lane Cottage. Following your feedback, we immediately checked the property from top to bottom and no trace of damp was found. The weather was very wet during the week that you stayed and this does make the atmosphere feel a little cold / damp but a quick blast from the fire in the living room would have soon taken this away. We were quite disappointed to receive such a low score for cleanliness; this is not at all consistent with our usual feedback / scores. The Cottage is thoroughly cleaned and prepared prior to each guest’s arrival and we pride ourselves on presenting a clean, well-equipped and welcoming holiday home for all our guests to enjoy.

A lovely cottage in a beautiful area. The garden was fantastic for us and the dogs. Plenty to see locally and we had some great walks. Both local pubs were welcoming and one served great food. We would have liked a bigger fridge and more pots and pans. We would love to stay again and the owners were very pleasant.

What a weekend, we were blessed with glorious weather, the cottage was clean and tidy with plenty of useful items at our disposal, even down to a pint of milk in the fridge for a cup of tea when we arrived. The owners live about 50 yards away and they were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely consider returning... Many Thanks
